Summary: Affordability plus great performance
Review: I was dreaming about an mp3 player for a long time, and I was very grateful to God for letting me get this one months ago. Since then, I've been downloading stuff from the Net, burning CDs, and playin'em on it. And I really am very satisfied with the performance, and also like the fact that I don't have to buy batteries and can just recharge, saves me money and time. I've read a review for a guy claiming to have returned his thing and finding errors, so and so, he's either bluffing or was very unlucky with a badly-made piece or something. I don't know. I just really am fine with this iRiver mp3 player. Honest.

Summary: Simply...Beautiful!
Review: This is by far one of the most classy to look at Mp3 players I have seen. It's pretty easy to use and the manual should pose no intellectual challenges in interpretation. Quite frankly its useless. While, music quality is not comparable to the Sony MP3 player that i had prior to buying this one, this mp3 player is a great buy for its price. If you are not too picky with sound quality you're gonna love this piece of equipment.

Summary: The only way to go if you have WMA's (or MP3's)
Review: If you are one of those people who have a lot of WMA's or MP3's on your computer, this player is the only logical way to go. It has played every single one of my songs (in multiple formats) without a hitch. I have 24 CD's ripped on to my computer, all in the WMA format. I can fit 19 albums onto one CD, and then play them all. After buying a Mini Disk Player (which was not an enjoyable experience) and returning it 3 days later, I bought the iRiver. It has preformed far beyond my expectations. The remote/screen is wonderful and easy to read (it even comes with a nifty visualization!), the controls are right at your fingertips, the equalizer is wonderful and very effective, and the many ways you can configure the player are extraordinarily helpful. The only downside is that it takes a little while to load the codec's and start playing the songs (about 15 seconds) but that is nothing compaired to the overall usefullness of this player. Overall, this player is the only option out there for people with a ton of music who do not want do dish over a lot of money for one of those 10gig MP3 players that crash all the time.

Summary: Excellent Unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A+++
Review: IÂ'm very pleased with this unit, it is just great!!. The battery lasts for so long that I could never imagine with my old NAPA DAV-309. The sound quality is truly excellent and the most incredible thing about this tiny machine is that you can see all the list of themes in the cd easily and you can jump to another theme by seeing the name of it and artist and NOT A NUMBER!!
I highly recomend that unit!!!
I-RIVER this is a great product!!

Summary: WOW!!!!!!!
Review: Well I have had my iRiver SlimX 350 for about 4 days now, and let me just say, the minute I opened up the box I was in total awe, this this is amazing i went from a Sony CD player, with 20 sec anti shock to this baby with 180sec anti shock, It's seriously so cool how much is in this baby, i find myself listening to it now, even when I have a 600 watt Stereo in the same room, it's just fun to use, I love burning a MP3 encoded CD and playing it on this, I Personally think aslong as CD's are still bought and used, that a Mp3 only player is VERY!!!!!! poitless to buy when you can get this! I mean what happens when your away from your computer for a week, and in another town, and need to upload a new song???????????????? well with this you can just go buy a CD at the store and slap it in the minute after you buy it, but at the same time, when you are planning for a long trip u can burn a mix at your house encoded with MP3's and have 1 or 2 CD's at most that will last you HOURS!!!! i mean seriously 10 hours of music on 1 cd, in CD quality Mp3 format, COME ON!
what more do you need!!! people with these 20gig iPods make me sick, why ... would you need 20-40 gigs of music in your pocket!!
well thats my opnion,
so for a FRACTION of the price of a Mp3 player you can get an mp3 player that ALSO will play CDs WONT SKIP AT ALL! and have an FM tuner just for the hell of it!
well BUy it I SWEAR TO YOU IT WILL BE WOTH IT!
I said to my self after playing with it for 20 mins, that I will DEFINATLY buy another iRiver.........

Summary: nice design and reasonable price
Review: I just got mine a few days ago.
I just want to say it is very neat and sort of "cool", light and thin enough.
The audio quality can not be compared with professional devices, but as a portable electronic, I think it is enough. I meet no problem in multibytes encoded file/dir names, though some in mp3 tags. However you can not expect more at this price. I think it is worth buying, especially after you try several 32/64M mps player, you will feel this one gorgeous.

Summary: Not as great as I expected
Review: The remote is small and hard to use and read, and the rechargable batteries do not last as long as iRiver claims they will. Also, I cannot find a car kit that meets this player's specs.

Summary: Great Product, now with ogg support!!
Review: Nothing more needs be said about this product than that it just rocks. And at the bargain price of a hundred bucks, it is definitely worth it. I recently painlessly upgraded the firmware to v 2.2. On the whole, highly recommended. Amazon did a good job of sending me a prompt replacement after one of the NiMH batteries was found leaking too..
Now Iriver has announced that from Dec 2003 end, it will optionally feature Ogg Vorbis support (albeit at the cost of wma support) - this is a cool new feature, as Ogg Vorbis is a patent free great audio compression format way better than mp3 and other proprietary standards. Way to go Iriver!

Summary: I wish I knew about this before!!!
Review: As far as I'm concerned, this product is the best in its class. It is exactly what I was looking for, and I couldn't be happier.

I currently own 2 other MP3 players... the first one I purchased over 2 years ago and it too is a combination CD/MP3 player, but because of it's poor quality I was left with the decision to buy a more expensive model. Which leads me to my second device, the Nomad Jukebox (also purchased 2 years ago). This was a much better model, and really met my needs until I ran out of room on the 6gig hard drive. Not to mention the fact that my Nomad managed to see the pavement a few times along the way. Unfortunately for me, the HD is beginning to have problems and I really don't want to shell out the cash to replace it.

So that leads me to today... I recently purchased the SlimX-iMP350 and I have to say that I am pleasently surprised. Sure it doesn't have the convenience of having its own built-in hard drive for storing all my music files, but at least now I can convert all my CDs to MP3 format, and condense my CD collection to a few CD-Rs and be able to carry them with me whenever I travel.

There are several other features that this great little unit has that I will probably never use, but for those of you who are looking to carry your MP3 collection around with you, I highly recommend that you stop looking any further, because your search is over. For such a small package, the combination of CD/MP3 player as well as a built-in FM tuner make this unit a tough one to beat. Some of you mught be concerned about the price, but considering what I paid for the Nomad Jukebox, this is definitely the better deal. Even the 20gig units are limited to "20gigs" where as this device is only limited by the amount of CDs you want to carry with you.

Now there are a few things that I have a problem with... The first would have to be the Ear Buds. The sound quality seems ok, but I prefer real headphones instead (Ear Buds simply do no fit my ears properly and are uncomfortable). The other thing I had some difficulty with was the remote control. This takes some getting use to, but after downloading and reading the PDF version of the Owner's Manual, it became a little easier to work with.

One thing I have to mention is that unlike Mr. Wharton's review, the Firmware upgrades are a breeze... as long as you follow the simple step-by-step instructions that are posted on iRiver's Website, Firmware upgrades can be completed within a matter of minutes.

Understand that Mr. Wharton was not pleased with his player, and let's be realistic, out of all the positive customer reviews on this site, it seems to me that he managed to get one of the very few that was defective.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the SlimX-iMP350 and I highly recommend it to all those who appreciate technology.
