Summary: Pass On It's Deductible
Review: Downloading this through an offer in TurboTax, it looks great. I quickly entered some data, only to find out that the database was corrupted. I did get a response, after 15 minutes on the phone, to email them and received a new database (a password protected excel file), which meant I had to retype the data.

Then the program did a TERRIBLE job of transferring to TurboTax, created needless extra forms and not correctly transferring the data.

Further, the program tells you you can enter expenses for Misc. Deductibles, but what they DON'T tell you is that you can only print those out. In my case, it wouldn't even do that, and an email to the company got zero response.

Huge waste of money, and they want to sell you next year's version now.

Pass it up.

Summary: It's Deductible
Review: I found It's Deductible very easy to use, and since we give used clothing to charitable organizations, this program has provided excellent guidelines for determining the amount that can be deducted on our income tax and still stay within the IRS requirements.

Summary: Great Product
Review: I just downloaded the product to use with my 2002 Turbo Tax. I had all my information entered in minutes and quickly uploaded into Turbo Tax. Now I can't wait to order another copy to use for my 2003 donations. This is quick, easy to use, and saved me an extra $.... for just one donation.

Summary: well worth the money
Review: I wanted to add to my earlier review -- After finishing my 2002 taxes, I've already purchased another copy of the software for my 2003 taxes, and I've started to track charitable donations for the year. Pretty amazing, since I'm usually a very disorganized person. This software pays for itself many times over, and makes you look forward to the trip to the Goodwill drop off bin.

Summary: a must if you donate clothing & household items to charity
Review: This software helps you keep track of all charitable deductions, and keeps a running tally of your tax savings as you add new deductions. Its real beauty, though, is in calculating value and deductions for clothing and household items donated to charity. For any given tax year, you enter the charity information (name, address, purpose of charity), and then create an entry for each specific donation. For clothing & household items, you find the items from an easy-to-use list, evaluate their condition (good, average, poor) and enter a quantity. It's deductible does the rest. The list of clothing items is fairly comprehensive, but the list for household items is less so. It's easy to add "custom items" to the list, though you will have to come up with the fair value for custom items. As an added bonus -- I now have much more closet and attic space. After I started using this program to calculate the value of my donations, I went on a serious closet-cleaning spree. Knowing that I can take a deduction for a beautiful but once-worn dress makes it much easier to part with.

Summary: OK, but confusing
Review: While this program does do alot for finding the value of common items, it leaves a lot out, especially toys. Also, the interface is very confusing. You cannot just look up the value of items without entering them in a donation table. There is no back button either, so if you make a mistake, oh well. Finally, when it prints out it does not give you the price. You can only see that price in the online display, so you have to write out the dollar amounts in yourself for your records. I would have liked a program that would just let you look up the value of items yourself without filling out forms for you.
