Rating: Summary: Could disappoint Review: This software has many useful functions - it provides a layer of defense for Internet-connected systems, provides troubleshooting tools and tuning functions, and assures a high level of privacy. Specific features include: - Defense against hackers while connected to the Internet: prevents file access (or deletion) by unauthorized users.- Troubleshooting and tuning: optimizes system performance and provides a nice front end to some of the inner workings of the system registry for controlling runaway applications that would normally hang your system forcing you to reboot. - Privacy: excellent cookie management, and some effective spam blocking features. It allows you to easily erase all evidence of sites that you've visited, and more importantly, through the cookie management features, prevents web sites from gathering information about you. There are two things that mar this otherwise useful program: (1)Although it claims to support Windows 95 through XP, the Microsoft Office tools that come with it only support Office 2000 and XP versions. Considering that Windows 95 users cannot run Office 2000 (and many of us are perfectly happy with Office 97), the program doesn't deliver in this area, reducing its value to some users. (2) The user interface insists on fonts that are exactly sized at 100% and nothing larger. This is insensitive to users who have visual impairments and who need to run Windows with accessibility features turned on. If you are using Office 2000 or XP and have no need for large fonts you will find this program to be useful.
