Description:

Take the technology of FileMaker Pro on the road, and bring it back home again with FileMaker Mobile. FileMaker Mobile lets you import information from your FileMaker Pro 5.0 databases to your Palm OS handheld, so that you're never at a loss while on the road.

In order to run FileMaker Mobile, you must have FileMaker Pro installed on your personal computer. FileMaker Mobile works only with FileMaker Pro 5v3. If you have a version that's earlier than 5.0, you must upgrade it to use FileMaker Mobile. If you have a version that's between 5.0 and 5.0v2, you can upgrade it for free. FileMaker Mobile runs on any handheld device that runs Palm OS version 3.1 or higher and has at least 2 MB of free memory.

Syncing your files on your handheld device and your desktop is quick and easy with FileMaker Mobile. When syncing files, any changes that are made on either the handheld or desktop are recorded in both places. There's no need to worry about losing changes in one place and not seeing them in another, as long as the user conscientiously remembers to sync on a regular basis.

Don't let fears about the small surface area of your Palm OS device cause you to shy away from this extraordinary tool. There's no need to rewrite any templates or databases on the Palm OS device. Use FileMaker on your desktop computer for all of those database design tasks. FileMaker Mobile uses a simple, streamlined interface and feature set that's suited specifically to the small screen and compact nature of the handheld device.

Overall, FileMaker Mobile can prove to be a formidable tool for avid users of FileMaker Pro. Anyone or any company that uses both FileMaker Pro and Palm OS devices should take advantage of the freedom and mobility that this software provides. --Kendra Hayden
