Summary: Not what I expected...........
Review: After I set the firewall to medium security level, I was unable to change the setting to the highest level.

The option just became cancelled. What do I suppose to do? - reinstall this pc-cillin? It would be stupid.

I wrote them a letter, but never got a response.

I think that Sygate firewall freeware version is the best so far. It seems to be better than firewalls for which we consumers are paying for.

Summary: Useless
Review: I bought this product to replace the Norton virus scan which I received on my new Dell as a trial offer. From what I read - including Amazon.com's reviews - it seemed to be the best anti-virus program on the market. When I tried to install it, I found that this product is not all what it is cracked up to be. Installation was impossible. I uninstalled all my Norton software (since Pc-cillin won't let you have both on your computer) and installed the software. It asks you to register the product on line, but when I connected, after about 2 minutes the blue screen of death pops up, tells me that a serious error has occurred which caused a physical dump of memory, and I have to reboot my computer. Luckily with XP you can reconfigure the computer to a time before the bad software was loaded, and this saved me. I reloaded Norton, and contacted Pc-cillin's customer support. That was a while ago, and I haven't heard from them at all. Not even a confirmation e-mail stating that they were handling my case.

Bottom line, Pc-cillin sells a defective product (at least the one I got was), and their customer support is lousy.

Norton seems to really be the only game in town unless you like to mess around with poorly written software and useless customer support.

Summary: Very Good Anti Virus
Review: I got PC-cillin 2002 when I purchased my Main board
and have been using it a few months now.
I was using Norton Antivirus before.
I must say that I am very impressed with PC-Cillin 2002
It is not a drain on resources .
I especially like the firewall feature that it provides.

Summary: excellent protection, bad browsing compatiblity
Review: I got this product with my Asus M/B. I also got PC cillin 2000 with my old Asus M/B which I used until I got Norton Works 2002 at which point my HD was wiped clean by the A-hole virus(don't know the real name) Now with my new M/B I will only use PC Cillin despite it's lack of support for certain websites(many official ones), such as the Asus website, and many gaming co sites. I get the "Active X cannont load BS onto computer" error message, but I think it is worth it to keep my $3100 computer from Falcon running properly.

Review: I have this on three computers now. So far Trend's software has caught every virus that sent to me or that was attached to some sites on the net. This strongly contrasts to McAffee and Norton which were problematic on my XP and earlier NT systems.

Updates are regular and problem-free. The personal firewall keeps me hack free, while the web trap makes surfing easier, more efficient and enjoyable.

I strongly recommend this product...

Summary: Best Yet!
Review: I have tried all the anti-virus stuff out thre and PC-cillin is by far the best, easiest to use and configure, most stable and most effective that I have found. It routinely intercepts worms and viruses that pass right through the anti-virus software used by friends and family, despite the fact that they are fanatic about downloading the latest virus definitions. PC-cillin has a new virus definition file out almost as soon as a new virus is discovered. It also peacefully co-exists with my firewall of choice. I haven't tried Trend's firewall as yet, so cannot rate that.

Summary: Side Effects with PC-cillin
Review: I installed this pc-cillin 2002 into my WIN98 machine. Machine started behaving erratic, then locked-up. I un-installed it and things went back to normal. E-mailed tech support, days later got return e-mail asking questions that I previously stated/answered.
Waited a few days; sent another e-mail. Then another three days later, and another e-mail asking me to repeat everything I stated the first time! Nothing heard since. I tried to re-install, turning off some of the features; computer runs real slow with Netscape, after some time, locked up again. I certainly cannot recommend this product. Customer Support stinks, and the software is useless to me. I wished I had purchased Norton!
