Rating: Summary: dream on Review: about a decade ago, one needed to be somewhat financially able and have friends in the music industry to become a singer and record music.... all that's changed... initially, i used to hate advancement in computer tech b/c it behaves like pandora's box... but i guess there are goods to all of this afterall. Affordable musician solutions at the software level that function and sound as good as(if not better sometimes) as those $4,000 tangible synthesizers and other expensive hardwares.cakewalk sonar (xl) is fundamentally a midi/audio sequencing and recording studio. it is ranked among with the best of its kind - up there with the 2 German based juggernauts: emagic logic and steinberg cubase. sonar is without a doubt the easiest to use among the 3 professional level sequencing leaders, and though it lacks support for vst, there are ways to get around it. i guess there's really no point of blabbing about technical details that a novice wouldn't understand anyway. so, i'll cut it short. but basically, all you need to know is that sonar is ALL that you need to create professional level music(assuming that you have a 24/96 sound card), and though it does have a learning curve... your passion and the joy of being part of the creative process will assist you thru.
