Summary: Would not unistall!
Review: Got to a state where it would not install cleanly or uninstall. I bought it at Best Buy and they would not take it back or trade for another brand. I do not recommend the software or Best Buy because of their return policy.

Summary: This product doesn't work in DVD players
Review: I bought the MVP product at COmpUSA last week. What amazed me the most was the ease of use, organization and the fact that you could put slideshows with music on a CD and play it via your DVD player connected to your TV. I made several copies of the CD, using MVP, and sent it off to my sister-in-law and others. My brother doesn't have a DVD player but has a PC so he just used the playing software that came with MVP no problem. I used to use EZ CD Crreator but found it to be just a bunch of disparate apps that I couldn't navigate thru. Great job SmartDisk. Can't wait to see what's around the corner..

Summary: It Works!
Review: I had great hopes for this product when I first purchased it. The idea is great: the abilty to organize all your multimedia in one convenient place, burn it to a CD to watch on your computer, etc. However, I received error messages from the start...regarding page faults....shutting down the program unexpectedly, freezing while burning....even though I met all system requirements. I called support, who were no help. I gave the software a chance...returned it once hoping it was just a one time bug....no luck...Unfortunately, I'll be returning the second copy for the last time. Smartdisk is on the right track....just need to work the kinks out of it first!!!!

Review: I tried to use this software for image shows on a CD. The adding of images to the interface was very difficult. Burned my images and tried to play on a DVD player that supports VCD and it didn't even appear. I will try to return it. BE CAREFUL!!!

Summary: Not quite what I had hoped
Review: It took a month of frustration before they came out with a patch that finally got things going for me. Once I burned my first DVD it took several tries before I finally figured out how to view the pictures with my DVD player.

I wish they would add a feature to add narration. Also you are limited to only one music file to play in the background.

Summary: Does not live up to expectations
Review: Reading the description of this software package lead me to believe that this would be an outstanding way to send pictures to freinds and relatives who have either a DVD player or computer.

Two main objections to the software.

First, the picture quality of the playback on a computer is dismal. It stretches the images from top to bottom, and the resolution is very, very poor.

Second, the software is supposed to encode .mpg files along with pictures to allow a slideshow that includes small video files (which I can take on my digital camera). When I tried to create a slideshow with a couple of those movies included, I received errors that told me the source file was corrupt and could not be used, even though I could view it through the player. I tried several different files, none of which worked. I then went to the MVP support page. There I was told that this was a common problem when you do not have "perfect" source file. It went on to explain that many viewers will "overlook" these problems but the encoding software within MVP can not deal with these issues. So none of the small .mpg files that I shoot with my digital camera will work on this software.

It is a shame that the software does not work, this company has a great idea, but extremely poor execution. The software is going back.

Review: This product was bought in desperation because I had promised family that I would send them a VCD of my kid's performance at a school event. I had bought and tried to use "Click-n-Burn", but the resulting CD would not even play correctly on computer and was not recognized in any DVD play we tried.

I bought MVP on the recommendation of one of the reviews of "Click-n-Burn" who had similar problems. When I installed MVP, my PC give a similar GPF described by another reviewer. It was quickly resolved by looking at the "Details" of the GPF and seeing that it was caused by the video driver. The program ran fine after updating the driver.

The MVP software is easy to use and provides a very powerful interface. The wizard enabled me to make my first VCD in under a half-hour!

My only complaint is that the menu displayed on the DVD player has the MVP logo. It can probably be removed, but I haven't actually read the manual yet.

I highly recommend this product!
