Summary: A classic syntheziser simulation for PC and Mac
Review: I don't know how long Rebirth has already been out there. Steinberg published it long time ago for the professional musician and it came with a hefty price tag (around 180 $). Now obviously data becker purchased the rights to distribute this little wonder of software programming and sells it for the consumer market at a much lower price. As said, the software is classic and nearly faultless: You get complete simulations of 2 monophone synthezisers and one drummachine, which are faithful recreations of old roland devices as they've been sold in the early 80ies. They can be sequenced and effects can be applied. So this is all an electronic musician needs to create techno, trance or ambient stuff. It's all a bit basic and pretty hard to understand how to program the synthezisers. Therefor I have to deduct one star since data becker didn't put a printed manual (there is one as pdf on the disc) in the box. Without it, the software is pretty useless. With it, it will take an hour or so to get decent sounds out of it. If you always liked the sound of 80is synthezisers and have your own ambitions about making music, this should be the cheapest way to start doing it.
