Rating: Summary: An Excellent Product Review: I have been using MSPro 6VE since it was released with the ADS Pyro earlier this year. I upgraded to the full version a few months ago. I have had a lot of Fun & Success with the F/X & features such as Picture in Picture, Reverse & Slow motion. I have had fantastic comments from my audience about the suberb quality of my new generation of digital videos. MS Pro6 has recently been upgraded to 6.0.0.2 with a free download from the Ulead site. This includes DV Smartplay which is a boon for OHIC (Firewire 1394)card users, it makes editing much easier & quicker. If it has any bugs I haven't seen them, Video Editing is the hardest thing that your computer can do, optimisation is the answer to many of the problems I have seen posted on news groups. I have found the Video Capture module a great aid in capturing stills off my camcorder with it's precise controls. I don't suffer from any crashes with my Celeron 500, 128mb Ram, Win98SE & I find it a rock solid programme. I have no trouble in unreservedly recommending it, the only problem I have is that it's very addictive :)

Rating: Summary: MSP 6.0 VE is the best Review: I have to hand it to Ulead Systems: Bravo! MEDIASTUDIO PRO 6 is a terrific upgrade from the older version 5.2. I also feel it is a much more powerful and fully featured product than the other company's (Adobe) video editing software. Ulead has chosen to offer a *suite* of separate programs. I like this approach. As you master each program, you can improve your skills to the point where broadcast quality commercials, PSAs, corporate training videos, music videos are all within your reach. MEDIASTUDIO includes a marvelous "Video Paint" program that lets you create animations and special effects such as Star Trek-style phaser beams, etc. But the big improvements are in the Video Editor. Ripple editing now offers much more control and power. Media management options make it much easier to keep track of your still images, video, and audio files. The CG Infinity module is much, much better than the titler in Premiere and as long as you understand how vector "drawing" works, you can create animation and sophisticated logos. I believe MEDIASTUDIO is the BEST sub-$1,000 video editor on the market.

Rating: Summary: At this price point, you can't lose Review: I just upgraded to MSP6 and I love the new workflow and features. After a beta patch from some MUG users (MediaStudio Pro Users Group) I can output my video directly from my timeline without rendering. Very cool. And my DV project previews are flawless.(I use a SIIG 1394 card, PIII 500Mhz, 20GB.) Ulead's SmartRender technology works great on all my media. It's great to be at the final output, notice a screw-up, and just render the change before dumping out to tape. I've always liked this feature, but is seems to be even better now. I also use an ATI All-in-Wonder and capture MPEG-2 directly from some older tapes I have. The performance is like I'm working with a standard AVI, with a slight delay on dragging the timeline cursor (no biggy). The added Source window is very nice for multiple cuts from one source clip prior to dropping on the timeline. I like to scale my Source window down and increase my Preview window. Couldn't do that in Premiere. I've always liked the Production Library's clean "windows explorer" style format. The new audio crossfade tool is a real timesaver for the dialogue I cut together, as well as ambient noise. - What else can I say? For the buck . . . no, for any amount of bucks, MediaStudio is a top-notch product with a whole lot more than anyone else gives you. Fred C.
Rating: Summary: MSP 6.0 VE is the best Review: I upgraded to MSP 6.0 Full from PYRO DVs MSP 6.0 VE This was due to slowdown using the Full Version. MSP 6.0 VE is actually better than the full version!, if you dont have a good pc. I do have a good one(AMD/Athlon 1.3Ghz, 256ram, 60gig hd) I can output to my CD burner, and I can use it on my home network, 2 Desktops, 2 Laptops. 3 of them are top-of-the-range and 1 is old, but it works fine. I like the preview window, as it is dark enough to see on my laptop screens and TFT flatscreen monitor. I make movies as a hobby, and this works way,way better than Premiere 6.0 (I have that also). The only reason i recieve slowdown is because i use this through the network, and i have music, all 5 programs, the internet, music composer(for my films), my e-mail inbox, some songs from internet radio, my aol instant messanger, and usually an internet game up(bridge), as you can tell this is bound to slow up a little, if you had a slow PC, but if you had a slow pc you wouldnt be doing all that stuff. This program is tops. Buy MSP 6.0 ve with PYRO 1394dv now!
Rating: Summary: VERY dissapointed Review: If version 6.0 of MediaStudio Pro is any good, I'll never know. It's very buggy and works about half the time. Worst of all, their customer service department has not responded to any of my email asking for help. Too much money for something that's not ready for prime time. To bad because it has some nice features.
Rating: Summary: Great improvement on an already SUPER product! Review: MSP 6 enhances an already wonderful product with features for the digital video age. With support for firewire, a much better interface, and new transitions & effects, this is a must have for owners of previous versions of MediaStudio Pro. Ulead has done this right. I love it!
