Summary: Make sure you get 5.5 !!! NOT 5.0
Review: Anyone having trouble with XP should check that they actually have 5.5 and not 5.0. They come in the same box. 5.5 Installed flawlessly on my XP system and works just great! I had earlier version of Nero on my previous box with Win95 and it also worked great. I have not tried all the functions yet but they all appear to load ok etc.

Review: Do not attempt to install this software if you are running Window XP operating system or you will be very sorry: you will not be able to uninstall. I have used Nero on Windows 2000, it runs great, but do not even think of installing it on Windows XP, even after all updates are done, you won't be able to uninstall. I suggest Roxio on Windows XP. I know dozens of people experiencing similar problems with Nero 5.5.

Review: I have been trying to upgrade from version 4.0 to 5.0 and 5.0 won't allow me too. when I emailed tech support they email me back a download page to buy the software again. I feel I am entitled to an upgrade version as 4.0 was weak and I was looking for the new version to come out.

Review: Absolutely no response from Tech Support.Error code that pops up during installation is not mentioned anyplace in the manual or online help tool. It may be a great product but given my experience with it thus far I doubt it.

Summary: Works great
Review: I haven't tried all the functions of this program, but it has worked very well where others have failed. This is the third program that I have tried for my Yamaha CDRW/DVD player. It has been a miserable trial and error process. (Side tangent: You'd think manufacturers would send software that actually worked with their products!) Anyway, thus far Nero has worked excellent; no coasters, no problems. The wizard is very easy to use and I liked that you could test flight the burn before actually doing so. Very nice program!

Summary: Rip-off of the Year
Review: FOR remapping all my drives to different letters, minus 1 star
FOR not doing what it says on the box, e.g. will not burn VCD or SVCD, minus 1 star
FOR crashing every time "cancel" is pressed, minus 1 star
FOR not answering emails to the "support" team, minus 1star. I should have known better after visiting the web site, its a mess. A mass of fixes and patches that says it all: this is flaky and unstable software. My advice if you are thinking of buying Nero? DONT.

Summary: Do not use this product for backups!
Review: backup process for 4gigs of data was stopped after the 12th cd used. The program does not tell you how many cd's are required for a backup process. After the 12th cd I became very frustrated not knowing how close I was to the end. Even so, 12 cd's is rediculous and a waste of money. if your looking for a back up software, DON'T BUY THIS ONE!

Review: My Plexwriter 12/10/32A came bundled with Easy CD Creator. After making a dozen or so coasters, reinstalling the program several times and dialoging with tech support, I downloaded the free Nero demo 5.5 and became sold on Nero. It worked the first time. No coasters, and the CD's are burned fast, reliably and with excellent quality sound. The only drawback is the labeler is somewhat difficult to use, but a small price to pay considering the overall performance of the software. I am ordering the full version from Amazon.com, which includes the entire manual.

Review: Nero Burning Rom is hands down the best burning software available. It may be a little difficult for newbies; but, for everyone else, there is no better choice. It is much more powerful than Easy CD Creator.

Summary: Manual Limited
Review: I purchased this software because the clerk at the store told me I could edit songs, which is what I need to do. I opened the instructions, before opening the software to read the instructions on editing. There is no reference to editing a song that I have ripped in the manual, that I can see. I have written to support from the website, but have not had a reply. Before I open the disc and destroy my changes of returning the software, I need to know if it can accomplish the task that I purchased it for. My review is... The manual and the support for this software are lacking.
