Rating: Summary: WOW!! This software does the trick! Review: Don't believe the pinheads who gave this software bad reviews, they must have installed a bootleg version. I bought the Xpress version first, to test it (create perfect "backup copies" of my DVDs? Bah!). IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY. With the Gold version, one can pick and choose which parts of the DVD to back up. It can even compress the entire DVD movie onto one blank DVD R. Will these DVD copies play on most DVD players? Yes, I've tested the backups using 6 different players, including DVD-ROMs in PCs - they all played the DVDs perfectly. I installed DVD X Copy on Windows XP and Windows 2000 (I installed the DVD-ROM and DVD Burner on different IDE buses on both machines, one as a master and one as a slave) WITH NO PROBLEMS. The Gold package comes with X Copy and the Xpress version, both versions work perfectly but remember to defrag your hard drive regularly or else you will run into problems. I'm taking away one star since you have to register the software online to "unlock" it, I hate forced registration schemes. But it is non-invasive, and the software is worth the effort. Buy it now before its banned!
Rating: Summary: Be careful.... Review: http://www.dvdcopypal.com is a site that sells the program that burns dvd movies onto cdr's. Not only does it take 2 to 4 cdr's to do it, you get none of the special features. No matter what the price, it is far inferior to the DVD XCOPY program. They say why spend $1000 on a DVD burner! WHAT? DVD burners are on sale right now (NAME BRANDS) for under $100!!!! Don't believe the hype. Don't get ripped off.
Rating: Summary: Not too Good, Not too Bad Review: I bought X Copy gold after I got the Sony multi-format dvd recorder. Its an OK product. For example, the DVD copy xpress works very well for me, and it puts everything onto 1 disk. (X copy gold comes with 2 programs, X copy gold and xpress version)I have not had a problem with the xpress yet. However, the standard dvd x copy gold program has not worked more than 1/3 of the time. First of all, it splits your movies onto 2 disks which is really annoying. Second, it takes a degree to use it. I am really good with computers, but the interface for this thing is terrible. Its very confusing, and has cost me at least 5 blank dvds so far because it screws up all the time. If you can figure out how to use the standard version, go for it, its a very powerful program. If you aren't too good with computers, go for the Xpress version.
