Summary: THE BEST SOFTWARE EVER!!
Review: For those who complain howmuch of a hard time they have using dvdxplat, obviously don't know how to read the enclosed manual.or could it be that they aren't computer savvy?

anyway, this is a great piece of software which "noble" intentions are to backup one's dvd collection. but c'mon i'm sure there are alot of people who are making copies of rented
dvd/movies. henceforth a major lawsuit from motion picture companies like fox, warner bros etc. has been filed against 321 studios. and unfortunetly they are winning. the platinum xcopy is three softwares in one. there's the platinum version which is more advanced for those who want to select what chapters, audio and special features to burn.

and for those who lack patience, there's the xpress which can rip and burn a dvd in a matter of 40 mins. (depending on your hardware) dvd rescue is idea for recovering bad burns ans well as ripping badly scratched discs. i would reccommend buying this disc soon because of the court injunction to prevent 321 from selling the product. it works for me :0P

Summary: Worst Piece of Software in Production
Review: I purchased the X Copy Platinum last week and had no problem installing or activating the product. From thereon, it was all down hill. First of all, you will notice there is no documentation or help files available. I have never seen a software product that did not explain how to use the program. All you get is a screen with several options. The first option, which they recommend, is DVD X Copy Xpress which is packaged with Platinum. I clicked on the button and recieved an error code, "Could not load your drive information, please run the Drive Selector". Now I defy anyone to find the Drive Selector in the program. I then ran the advanced option, which allows for SOME tweaking of the sceens to be added. I was successful in creating a disk using this option.

I wrote tech support and they did resond with some suggestions on what to do. They also suggested removing all packet writing software and disabling any antivirus software. I downloaded the suggested file and installed the update to ASPI layer. I removed all "blacklisted" programs and rebooted twice as instructed. The express version was now availabel. I ran that and got as far as the burning process. I received a burn error and was unable to exit the program no matter what I did. My PC was frozen and I had to shut it down manually. When I rebooted, the OS could not load. I tried everything and could not get XP install to gain access to the C drive to reinstall XP. I finally was able to get the drive formated and install XP. I now had a clean install of XP and installed Platinum again. I started it and again could not access the express version. I then went through the same routine as before, but this time I could not get express to run. I also had to contact 321 to get my activation code re-activated. Take it for what it is worth, it is a very unstable product, no documentation or help available, on line forums are the only source of information, support is okay. Buy at your own risk....

Summary: BAD PRODUCT!!!
Review: The telephone customer support is not free, as mentioned. The software is very overpriced (the price is higher now than is was before). The software is also very unstable, and limited. The DVD final transfer process is slow and your final product has a banner ad stamp at startup. The coppied DVDs will not play on most devices and the quality is poor. DO NOT BUY THIS MESS THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS OUT THERE ON THE MARKET, AND FOR FREE TOO. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
