Summary: Easy to Use
Review: Great product, but I did not receive my rebate offer, which is quite disappointing.

Summary: Couldn't get it to work
Review: I was very disappointed in this software. After carefully following the instructions I couldn't get it to work properly. My computer "froze up" many times. I emailed Roxio tech support (one of the benefits advertised) and did not receive a reponse. Eventually, I became so frustrated I removed the software and sent it back to Amazon. I have a much earlier version of Easy CD writer and it works just fine.

Summary: Easy CD Creator 6 Rocks
Review: The product is trully a digitally media suite as it claims .
Yeah , Yeah there are crashes and bugs here and there ,which product doesnt have theese . I installed my copy which I had purcahsed at Frys and installed it on Win 98 . I like the new enhanced Creator Classic . It has cool features like burning multi disc data sets , ability to create Bootable DVDs , MP3 DVD Discs , . The label Creator has also trully been enhanced , abilty to print DVD covers is somethings I like a lot . DVD builder and Audio Central are new applications to this suite . Audio Central doesnt really compare to other audio applications out there . A lot of important options are buried under menus .
DVD builder is also a great application though I am irritated with so many windows popping up ,really poor UI design.

All in all its worth the investment . You can lose at the price you pay.

Summary: Great Product
Review: This is a great product that should meet most of your CD/DVD creation needs. Installed in Windows XP Pro without any problems and every application is rock solid. Those that have problems installing in Win 2K or XP are probably experiencing permission problems. One great new feature is that the software will automatically add track numbers to your tracks as you drag the tracks into the order you want when creating a MP3 disc. I have used every version of Easy CD Creator since version 3 and the product gets better with every major release. Very good job Roxio.

Summary: Poor performance all around
Review: Well, my trials with Easy CD/DVD 6 started with consistent lockups while loading on my Windows 2000 machines. A reboot would fix it, yet sometimes it would persist. Roxio had no solutions for this and claimed it must have been another program running at the same time.

Once I could get it running I attempted to burn a few DVDs, strangely enough it showed some DVD-RW disks as 1x and some as 2x off the same spindle. (Not very promising).

Beyond that It continuously coughed up Buffer Underrun errors, when previous software had never given me error (I'm using a DRU-500 drive).

The Underruns literally "wasted" the RW disks I was using, I'm hoping another program will be able to recover them, Easy CD shows "disk unusable". And I am lead to believe it *IS* software related since it's happened now with 3 different media brands.

Testing on my second PC running Windows 98 with the same Firewire DRU-500 drive produced the same results (tho the software did load properly).

All in all I recommend a strong "do not buy" rating to Roxios newest product.

Summary: Bugfilled XP Product
Review: I wholeheartedly agree with every negative article related to this product - if you use windows XP. As an example the Label maker does not refresh properly so the graphics bleed into one another. Tech support almosts laughs at people with their standard comments - oh its going to be fixed on the next upgrade. I'm not sure how they let this product out the door. It's too bad becuase their earlier versions did its job relatively seemlessly.

Summary: Works For Me
Review: I spent a lot of time reading the negative reviews for this product. I decided to buy it anyway. Prior to installing the software, I made a full back up of my system as other reviewers said that they had trouble booting up after installation. I am running Win XP Home and my installation worked without issue. I love the new interface and new tools available. I have not had one error or problem and the burning speed is about 25% faster than version 5. Make sure you completely remove all of version 5 before installing the new version and you shouldn't have any issues.

Summary: Good if you have a DVD recorder, but not a must if you don't
Review: I have sticked to Easy Cd from my early beginning recording CDs, more than 3 years ago, and believe me: I have tried many programs.

My first version was 4.0 and it performed excellent. Never had a problem and everything worked perfectly well. It was Easy to use (the name said it all in this case)

Then I tried version 5.0 and it brought many more features but also other complications. Everytime I wanted to record a CD a, heavy to load and memory consumption, menu opened and my computer slowered and sluggished its performance.

I know you should not be doing anything else while recording a CD so all other applications were not running, except for my antivirus, so I could not figure out why my PC remained so slow after the CD had been recorded!

I switched to Nero, which has more features and it is as powerful (or perhaps more) than Easy Cd. Nero is also easy to use (its wizard is really simple to follow) so it became my favorite.

When I saw that a new version of Easy CD had appeared I came back hoping to find a good product. But instead I found a very similar program to its previous version for CD users (if you own a DVD recorder, not my case, you will enjoy it more, I think). But worst, it made my PC even slower!!! I have a P IV 1.5 Ghz with 256 Mb Ram so I do not have a totally out of date one...

My advise: Cd users stick to your actual program and avoid it until Roxio fixes it.

Summary: This product stinks
Review: I have been very happy with Roxio products until this upgrade. This product should never have been released. During the upgrade, it destroyed my Windows 2000. All I had when Roxio got through with my machine is the blue screen of death. I had to reinstall Windows, ALL my programs ALL my drivers, and I had reset ALL my preferences and defaults, I never could recover my DSL connection. And my MP3 files all disappeared. I lost a week's worth of work, probably several clients, and several thousand dollars.

After speaking with Roxio technical help (on my dime, of course)for several hours, the person at Roxio admitted that THIS WAS CAUSED BY A KNOWN BUG. They had no work-around; they had not recalled the product; they had no warning for suckers like me. All they had was "I'm sorry." That's not good enough.

The icing on the cake is that the program doesn't even work well. I have yet to be able to make an audio cd that doesn't skip and distort. I hate to think about the data cd's I've made.
