This is the encoder that is used by 99% of most Hollywood produced DVD discs. The Encoder interface looks as dull as say notepad, but this has probably the best Mpeg encoding algorithms of the lot. Basically it opens AVIs, Movs, DV, AVS, DIF, TGA, Tif, BMP and JPG files to convert them into Mpegs that are then used by DVD authoring software to make the menus, titles, chapter etc. Although there are plenty of MPEG encoders out there, this one simply has the best maths for image quality. If you want to encode your movies into Mpeg files for use with DVD authoring software then this Encoder is the best of them all. Another good one is TMPEnc.

Another great feature with this package is that it comes with a DOS executable Encoder file. Some DVD authoring packages and converters will actually allow you to select this DOS executable to encode the Mpeg. DVD2SVCD can use it.

Anyway, hands down it wins just based on the maths alone. It is the best quality Mpeg converter out there.
