Summary: Little known encryption tool that packs a big punch
Review: One note of advice: If you're looking for an encryption tool, and the supplier doesn't tell you what algorythms it's using, don't waste your time or your money. They may keep your brother out of your files, but Neobyte Solution's Invisible Secrets is one that will keep everyone, including the government, out of them. While such security may not be necessary for the average user, when the price is the same, go for the big guns.Invisible Secrets uses several algorythms, including Blowfish, Twofish, and Rijndael, the latter of which earned the rank of AES (advanced encryption standard) in 2000 or 2001. The program itself has an easy interface with easily understood options, allowing you to wipe original files after encryption, rename or use existing file extensions, and others. The help files have a lot of information, as does their Web site, which is currently being updated. IS also uses Steganography, the practice of "hiding" a file within another file. While this practice isn't always perfect (Making a 50Kb JPEG image and turning it into 11Mb is pretty obvious), it's an intriguing way of hiding things from prying eyes. It offers file options as carriers, including .bmp, .jpg, .html, and .wav. Neobyte Solutions also provides the the source code for creating carrier files so you can write your own -- provided you already understand coding in either Delphi or C++. Upgrading to version 2002 is free, with some new options including password-protecting the program itself -- So now your kid brother can't encrypt all your files and hold them hostage. I gave five stars because it's well worth the money, and packs some valuable encryption tools inside. ...
