Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: After having horrible installation problems with NSW2001 last year, I decided to give Norton the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I actually got a bad disk both times I purchased the software (I had to return the first one). But after facing the same installation problems with a newly purchased NSW2002, I have decided No More Norton. I have gone to the extremes of a clean boot in 98se, as well as installation component by component, and still can't get it to install. The support at Symantac is non-existent. There is no reason that I can't put the disk in the drive and have this software install nicely. I refuse to pay this kind of money to have these kinds of problems.

Summary: new Title systemDOESN'TWORKS
Review: Well a bunch of utilities that do about nothing. These utilities are worth nothing. Cleansweep does the same thing windows does. Speed disk is much slower than disk defragmenter(which is all that it does) the new goback which is one of the reasons that i got it is a step back from all previous versions of goback and tends to forget many things. The firewall is ok but why pay for it when you can get a much better firewall from zonealarm.com for FREE!! Some tools can be useful but they have never actually solved any of my windows problems. You can get all the seperate utilities on this package for free or very [inexpensive] from other companies.

Summary: JUST SET IT & FORGET IT !
Review: I apologise to Ron Popeil and his cooker, but this system is really that easy! By far the easiest to install and use among Norton's and MacAfee products. I have been running it with XP for a few months now. I first used it as a Beta release with my XP RC 2 copy, then installed SystemWorks 2002 after I installed the XP final product. It has caught several viruses so far, handled them perfectly and automatically. Upates are downloaded and installed automatically in the background while you are online. What more could a person want? If you have an old clunker, you can disable the background updates. Buy this product and you won't have to worry.

Summary: Systemworks deleted my programs
Review: I followed Norton's installation directions exactly. Not only did Norton Systemworks delete most of my programs during the installation process, I paid 30 nonrefundable dollars to be told I have to reformat my hard drive. The tech enjoyed telling me nothing further could be done, and I would be charged for the call. The bulletin boards they call customer service were useless; the techs had obviously not even read my post thoroughly. Read other reviews as well;you are rolling the dice with Norton.

Summary: Cup runeth over!
Review: I purchased this software at the same time as I purchased Norton Firwall. What an awesome combination! One of my concerns was that this software would gobble up lots of my system resorces. That's not the case at all. I had McAffee pre-loaded on my computer when I bought it and had to uninstall it because it pretty much disabled my whole system. NOT the case with Norton here! This software package really has more than I need. I disabled the clean sweep part, so I can't comment on that. I like the way the software took care of and fixed the little pre-existing glitches my computer had. I for sure came out ahead with this! In my opinion you can't go wrong with this software!

Summary: Stay away
Review: Where to begin? This thing has destroyed my e-mail, loused up other programs and I can't get it to uninstall!! My system has had performance problems that I've traced directly to this program. I've talked to experts in the IT field and most say these Norton programs are all show and no go. Buyer beware!

Summary: Symantec strikes again!
Review: Great overall product but be prepared to start updating the program, the virus definitions and even the update program itself during the install. I bought it as soon as it was available and already there were fixes out for it.

The "extra" included programs are not worth upgrading from Systemworks to Pro.

Summary: ripoff rebate
Review: The rebate only applies if you have proof of purchase of a previously owned virus protection (and it must have been a boxed or downloaded rather than subscription protection).
Yes, I like the product but think the rebate is very misleading.

Summary: There is nothing better than Norton Utilities
Review: Peter Norton knows what he is doing. I have been with NU since DOS versions - way back before we knew how valuable running preventative maintenance on a PC was. I just upgraded to this latest masterpiece by Mr. Norton and his team.

Beware - others running this on operating systems other than Windows 2000/XP have had some troubles. If you're still on Windows 9x or NT4, you may just want to go with an earlier version of Norton System Works.

Bring IT to Daddy.

Summary: Tuneup your PC in a few easy steps
Review: SystemWorks is a good tool to keep your computer in shape.
Recommended if:
* If you have been using your computer for a long time, installing/uninstalling loads of programs
* Need a solid virus protection suite
* Have nibbling Windows errors
* Want to improve your computer's performance.

Interface is easy to use, a very functional.

However, some people I know have had issues with the software, so I can't recommend it with full gung-ho.

Hope this was helpful.
