This product is a license for up to 100 workstations to use Lost & Found. The following description applies to the software that this product licenses and that must be purchased separately.Lost & Found lets you recover and restore data automatically after data loss or from corrupted media that has resulted from a disk crash or logical system failure. Lost & Found even will recover data if the partition has been reformatted or if the FAT tables have been destroyed. Lost & Found only performs read operations on the affected hard disk. Many utilities attempt to repair the hard disk, and corrupt the data that's contained therein. Because Lost & Found only performs read operations, it does not risk the integrity of the data on the disk. Lost & Found can restore files to any media that have been assigned drive letters under DOS. (This includes network drives, removable media, another physical hard drive, etc.) It will not restore files back to the source hard drive. The amount of data that can be recovered depends on the severity of the damage. This product has the following features: - Does not need to be installed prior to the recovery of lost or corrupted files.
- Does not alter, write to, or attempt to repair critical sectors on the damaged disk, which increase the chances of a successful data recovery.
- Recovers your files even after reformatting, as long as you have not written over them.
- Performs a disk analysis, and reports the odds of recovery via color coding.
- Allows you to save data to a network drive.
- Allows you to recover files from disks that have suffered head crashes or other damage.
- Recovers lost or damaged data even if the critical sectors, such as the boot sector or root directory, are corrupted or missing.
- Recovers data from both FAT16 and FAT32 partitions. Works with all possible IDE, EIDE, and SCSI disk-drive configurations.
