Review: Sounds like you need to buy a new computer. I have been using PC-Cillin for several years now and it has been flawless. PC World can not be wrong. It also does not sound like their typical support level, any time I have called they have reached perfection. Are you sure you did not buy Norton or McAfee??? Such a review would be typical of their software. Sure this software costs a bit more than the others, but in return you get the best.

Summary: Don't Even Think About It!
Review: It seems that the reviews of this software fall into 2 categories: it either works great or there are major problems. Unfortunately, my experience is in the "major problems" category. Like others, I purchased the software after reading favorable reviews. After installing the software, it caused my computer to completely shut down and then contiuously reboot. I called tech support 3 different times and spent an average of 45 minutes on hold. They could not solve the problem and upgraded my level of support. I then could not talk to a "real" person on the telephone and could only communicate through e-mails (they would not give me a telephone # for level II support). After 16 e-mails and several hours of wasted time, they finally decided that they could not solve the problem. However, they would not refund my money because I did not purchase the software directly from them (I purchased it from an internet store). They finally quit responding to e-mails. So after 2 months of wasted time, the software is going into the trash, just like the money I spent. Never again will I buy a Trend Micro product.

Summary: Better than Norton and McAfee
Review: I have had both Norton and McAfee products before purchasing this product. Both feel short in many areas. Based upon a magazine review I purchased this product in the Summer of 2004.

This is the best security software for the home user. With an easy setup procedure and powerful tools, this software is the best for protecting your home network or computer. It is now January of 2005 and I have had zero incidents.

PC-cillin constantly updates to protect from new threats on the Internet. This is what I like about this product. It updates itself and is ever vigilant against the nasties floating out in cyberspace.

Other reviewers have commented on bad technical support, but I have not had any problems with the online technical support. I am unable to comment on the efficiency of their telephone support.

Summary: Scared!! To Install or Not To Install.........
Review: I have given this 3 stars as I haven't installed it yet.

I recently ordered this product as I had a problem with my Norton updates (they work now) searched the web and found that this product is highly recommended.

I am now slightly aprehensive, possibly even scared as the title suggests, because after reading the reviews on this site I have noticed a lot of 5 star and many 1 or 2 star reviews. The problem is a large proportion of the 5 star reviews are by 'A Software User'. I suspect that 'A Software User' eats his or her lunch in the Trend Micro canteen. If this is correct then the overall legitimate rating of this software looks pretty bad.

I don't know how fast I'll be loading this software now, will I experience 5 star results or disasterous 1 star results?

Summary: Product is MAYBE average, the support stinks
Review: I'm really not sure what all the hoopala is about this product. Under it's "protection" I ended up with an "infection" that ultimately caused my PC to stop functioning altogether (and yes, I religiously downloaded the updates). Luckily, I managed to save my data. While this was happening I was trying to get some help from the Trend Micro support organization. I had escalated the problem and went through many push-ups to provide the information they requested. In the end, they stonewalled my case while I watched my PC die on the vine. Had I known they didn't care I wouldn't have bothered. I had naively thought they might care to find out what was infecting my PC so that they could apply the knowledge gained to other customers. After all, that IS their BUSINESS. I'll take Norton back thank you very much.

Summary: if you like to waste money at the computer repair store...
Review: Like others, this software caused my system to shut down. After two months, my computer was full of Adware and Spyware, as a matter of fact, it had over 600 of them!! I had to take it to a professional to clean out my system and trust me i lost a lot of old programs in the process. I have decided that Anti-Virus ware is just a hoax. I didn't have it on my old computer for four years, and never got a virus. Then I installed a scanner, and then I got viruses and Spyware. I believe the Antispyware and Antivirus ware BRING viruses to your computer by creating them, then you have to keep buying more of thier lameass products because you believe that they help. BULL!!
I am better off not having anything, rather then this piece of junk!!!
Unfriendly staff, and i had to spend over $100 on repairs...

Review: Remeber that old saying? Well just like that, PC-cillin Internet Security 2004 sees a virus on your system, and gets it off before a massive infection occurs. PC-cillin in fact was why my computer is so stable, and it's also the reason why I didn't lose my files. I had a virus on my system a long time ago, and I had no idea I did, (of course I didn't have Anti-Virus software installed) and after getting Pc-cillin, I scanned my computer and I had over 300 infected files. All of the infected files (Executables, thank gosh) were deleted, and the virus I had once had on my computer was no longer existant. Just like that. No computer can be stable without an Anti-Virus software, and this my friends, is choice. We all know that saying..."You've got champane taste, and beer money", well this time you can buy the champane with beer money, because this is the most unbelieveably affordable piece of anti-virs software on the planet, and the best one, too. The gods have opened up the heavens and unveiled PC-cillin Internet Security 2004. Hands down, the best Anti-Virus software ever made.

Summary: GREAT ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM
Review: Bought this based on ratings by PC World Magazine and this site. Loaded easily, updates frequently, runs flawlessly. Huge improvement over Symantec's Norton Anti-virus which caused my system to crash constantly. Finally an anti-virus program that works!
