Rating: Summary: P. O. S. Review: This is a piece of junk. I spent 2 nights trying to transfer about 3 gigs of docs and jpg files from a Win 98 2E to a new XP Home PC. The 2 machines connected, but the transfer kept failing halfway through. Support is a joke. Go out and hire a professional.
Rating: Summary: It does what it is designed for Review: This is an excellent program for moving your installed programs to your new computer. For that, it works great. I have done two migrations and had no problems at all. It is not really for bulk file moves. Basically, if your installed software is in the add/remove list, it will move it.
Rating: Summary: ADIOS BOBBY Review: This is worst piece of software I have purchase in over 20 years of using PCs. I purchased based on recommendations from Tech TV and radio computer talk shows. PC Relocater did not perform as advertised when upgrading to a new computer, 98SE to XP Pro. All directions were followed precisely still the program repeatedly dropped the connection after less than 10 minutes into a 3+ hour transfer. It was faster to burn my files to a CD-R0M and reinstall my programs. The "transfer settings" function in XP worked perfectly the first time thanks Microsoft! I returned the product to Eisenworld Inc. they refused to give a refund. If you buy this product you will need the following email addresses and phone numbers: Eisenworld Inc.: Phone: 954.845.9941, Fax: 954-845-9941, returns@eisenworld.com, support@eisenworld.com. GOOD LUCK YOU'LL NEED IT!!
Rating: Summary: Horrendous Review: This product does not work. It crashed both my source and destination computer, at different times of course. It's way too expensive and doesn't do anything for you. After multiple attempts, I've only been able to move 39 files and no applications. Use another product. Any other product. Avoid this one.

Rating: Summary: Sayonara, Bob Review: This product simply does not work. I tried to migrate from a desktop PC running XP Home to a laptop running XP Pro. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the software would not recognize the USB bridge cable even though the computer would. When I tried to run the program, it would lock up the machine and I would have to do a hard reboot. Also, when I updated the software version from the alohabob website, I could not uninstall the program after that. Do not buy this product.
Rating: Summary: Garbage Review: Total waste of money and time. USB cable connector didn't function, software froze up computer. And, support--yeah, right. What a joke. Fortunately, I will be within the 30 day guarantee, we'll see how they are at refunds. Aloha, Bob.
Rating: Summary: Alohabob Rocks Review: Used it to move to my new Dell 4550 from my old Compaq running Windows 98 SE. The USB cable was tricky to connect, but the phone support, and online Knowledge Base cleared that up. After that it was as easy as pie. I moved Office 2000, Adobe Photoshop, and several Macromedia programs. I had to renter the serials on the Macromedia programs, but all my email, my files, and most importantly my MP3's came over. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Great product, if you know the traps in advance Review: Using Aloha Bob PC Relocator Ultra Control, moving a very complicated and personal computing environment from Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro was "not too bad". It would have been "painless" had I known a trick in advance. Now that you will know it, it can be painless for you. There are applications (such as Norton Utilities) which Aloha Bob PC Relocator wisely will not try to move from one PC to another. There may be other applications which you choose to re-install on the target PC rather than letting Aloha Bob PC Relocator move them for you. For any application that you will be reinstalling on the target PC, INSTALL IT ON THE TARGET PC FIRST, before using Aloha Bob PC Relocator. If you don't do this, then even though certain applications are not being moved by Aloha Bob PC Relocator, it will fretfully move just a few drivers, .dlls, and Registry entries from those applications that aren't supposed to be moved (because it thinks that someone might depend on them). What will happen at the other end is that the Installer for those apps will refuse to install them, because it will see enough scraps that it thinks they are already installed. And you cannot uninstall on the target PC, because not enough of the apps were moved. CATCH-22! I had to manually delete scraps of applications that should not have been moved -- .dlls, drivers, and Registry entries. This was tedious and not very nice. Now that I know this trick, I expect it to be painless next time, and I'm looking forward to using this product again.
Rating: Summary: PC R-ipoff Review: Where shall I begin? Since this type of transfer works best when both computers are side-by-side, I lugged them both to a conference table (computer desk not large enough) - consequently, no internet connection in there. The provided USB transfer cable was not recognizable by either computer. No matter what we did. Ran out in a snowstorm to buy a parallel transfer cable. Recognized that fine. I would get to a point where I selected the applications and types of data files I wanted to transfer. The target computer began analyzing the source computer's data files and I'd get an error message that some of the files were not 'compatible'. In particular, it was a System 32 win_14 file. I called Aloha Bob's technical support. Got a voice mail message that said they no longer gave 'live' support and to leave a message they'd respond to in 24-72 hours. When you're in the middle of transferring data, a 72 hour turn-around is not acceptable. I needed the new, larger computer for a new, larger project we took on and I now had a very expensive 'boat anchor' on my hands for the meantime. When I did not receive a call within 24 hours, I made the decision to manually transfer what I needed and bite the bullet about my settings and so forth, starting from scratch. One of their techs finally called me 5 hours away from it being the 72-hour deadline for support assistance. The gal seemed, to me, to be a new hire since she kept saying 'hang on a second', put me on hold, then came back a minute later with instructions for me to do this or that, trying to solve my problem. After roughly 15 minutes of trying to find the incompatible file, with no success, she quickly told me she had another customer she had to 'get to' that afternoon and I should continue on my own to find the file in question, delete it, and see if the transfer then worked. She would try to call me back before the end of her workday. Well, I did manage to find the file in question, deleted it, and the transfer still did not work. My summation of all this is that this software is an extreme rip-off considering the lack of support behind it. Obviously, their techs are not the 'experts' in this application that they claim to be.
