Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! There is NO tech support!
Review: I purchased this product and I have yet to get it to sync properly with my Palm. I am knowledgeable with computers and have had several "gurus" look at it with no help. Whenever I sync with my Palm, all customer meals are deleted. I have emailed tech support - receiving a response 2 weeks later with the exact same software that I installed. Absolutely NO help. They are no longer a part of Intel (sold 2 years ago) and are still marketing under Intel w/no phone number or address listed (all www registration, phone #, and addresses point to Intel). I have contacted Intel and they are going after Vivonic demanding a cease and desist from them to remove Intel from the packaging and registration. The program - if it worked would be great. But frankly having no tech support doesn't make this software worth buying.

Summary: This Palm Fitness Planner is Super
Review: I really love this Fitness planner. I like to update it during the day and synch on my computer, but usually end up doing several days at once. It helps keep me motivated to excercise. I created many meals so that I can just add a meal with one click.

Summary: Great Software but too many bugs
Review: I really love this fitness software but I hope the fix all the bugs in it soon. Its strange but in all my years of trying to lose weight and stay in shape, I have never had anything that has motivated my like this little application. Since I purchased the software 6 weeks ago, I'm running 5 days a week and have really improved my eating habits and lost 9 pounds (11 more to go). Its simple and easy to use and its fun and discreet. I can enter my information in my palm wherever I'm at and know exactly where I stand calorie-wise for the day. My only complaints are as follows:

1. There is a bug in the code where it begins to delete information that is more than 2 weeks old. I have emailed their tech support twice and tried all of the suggestions on their web site and its still not fixed. I never received a response to my tech support emails.

2. They could significantly improve their reporting capabilities. I understand this is an early version of the software, but I'm really looking forward to seeing later versions with enhanced reporting and other improvements.

Summary: Vivonic is a GREAT software program for the Palm!
Review: I received the Vivonic software several weeks ago, and have been using it daily to record my food intake and exercise. The program works great; I have had none of the installation and operation problems that a previous reviewer described. This program is the tool that every dieter and exercise fanatic has dreamed of. Although it takes some time to enter nutritional information for custom foods, the payoff is a cumulative list of custom foods that can always be accessed on future occasions. It would be nice if custom foods could be entered on the handheld as well as the desktop, but this is a minor drawback, and one that Vivonic perhaps will address with a future software patch. So far, I have not gotten in stride with a diet program, but the Vivonic software has provided me with important feedback concerning where my diet needs improvement. This is a software program which I look forward to using every day. I have checked out evaluation versions of other fitness software, including DietLog, and nothing comes close to the quality, functionality, and intuitiveness of Vivonic. Buy it!!

Summary: A Great Help
Review: I think this is a great tool to help with fitness goals. I think there are a lot of positives about this program.

It's helped me out, I started a weight loss and health improvement program about 10 months ago. I've lost 55 pounds, my cholesterol is way down, and I feel great. I found that the Vivonic app on my Palm really was a helpful part of this success.

Here is what I like about the program:

1) A well written, easy to use program. Very easy to enter food intake, there is a built-in database of nutrition values plus you can enter your own as well. Same with the exercise info.

2) The graphs showing your daily and monthly exercise AND nutrition results are most helpful for me. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words (and often, a 1000 calories!)All your progess and daily nutrition analysis is done relative to a program that you set up on the desktop part of Vivonic.

3) I use the Palm quite a bit for work stuff, so I've almost always got it around. I have no excuse not to enter the exercise and nutrition info.

4) Helps with the discipline of maintaining a program.

Best of luck on your fitness endeavors!

Summary: Is Vivonic defunct?
Review: I used this software with my Handspring Visor and liked it. I recently upgraded to a Palm Tungsten T and it turns out the software won't work on Palm OS 5.0. So I tried to get ahold of Vivonic...and they are gone. As if they never existed. The web site is shut down, the doors and windows are boarded up and nobody is home without so much as a press release. Do not purchase this software if you are running Palm OS 5.0 or if you care about future support.

Summary: Real waste of money
Review: I was extremely disappointed in this product. Vivonic would have been better served to spend some of the money they obiviously spent on their web site and glitzy packaging and put it into creating software that lived up to the hype. Before you buy this "great marvel of portable training" software, be aware of a few basic (but ones that will be real annoying) things.

1)Exercise cannot be added in. You may add exercises to your daily menu, but ONLY those Vivonic has already programmed in.

2) You can't add in foods. Same as the exercise. You can modify the menu but only with what Vivonic provides. I guess Vivonic never expected anyone to deviate from exactly the food groups and types the put into the software (duh????).

3) The charting capability is poor at best.

4) If you are like me and kinda like to see the exercises in the order you are going to do them, forget using the Vivonic. To get things in any order entails deleting everything and basically re-entering one by one...jeez...

Take your money. Go to a site like [e-mail] and get around 3 months of better (and ten time more detailed) training and nutrition programs for less than you'll spend on this product's cost and shipping and handling for the Vivonic dud.

I am forced by this software on th is site to give this product at least a 1 star rating, but even that is inflated. Personally I give this product NO STARS!!!
