Summary: Electronic Skip Protection didn't work
Review: I liked the advertised features of this player -- especially the remote control -- but I discovered that the ESP on the player I bought didn't work. I tried several different CD's, to make sure the problem wasn't with the disc. And it's not as though I was using the player while running hard or jumping up and down -- the skipping occurred during brisk walking. This is the second Philips portable CD player I have purchased that had problems with the ESP. I tried contacting Philips Customer Service by e-mail and received an Auto Reply that someone would get back to me within two business days -- that never happened. I returned the player at my local Target and received a full refund. I now have a Sony player and couldn't be more pleased.

Summary: The Buttons are Awesome
Review: I love this CD player, I'm 15, and it's extremely durable for all of the teenage wear and tear that I have on an every day basis. I got it for my birthday, and it's pretty reasonably priced (I got some other presents too), and I'm loving it. The remote control feature is awesome, and it's definately easier to manage with that nifty little remote. I can take it anywhere, and with the protector, it just gives me a little bit more reassurance that it won't get broken, like my last Sony one did. But, all in all, I love this little CD player. And who doesn't like the awesome design on it? Checkerboards are awesome.

Summary: Not too shabby...but MP3 capability would be nice.
Review: I was trying to decide between this player and a Sony player that wasn't available yet. I had some Target gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket, so I went with the one that was available immediately...this Philips player. It doesn't have MP3 capabilities, but then, I really don't burn that many CD's with MP3's, plus the software on my machine converts MP3's to play on regular CD players anyway, so...I guess it doesn't matter in the end, but it would be nice to have the option. That said, I'm pleased thus far with this CD player. I turned off the anti-skip function to prolong battery life, but it appears to buffer itself anyway. I noticed that the disc wasn't spinning, but music was still playing, even with the anti-skip turned off. I've listened to it riding my bike (where the player hangs vertically off of my back pack), riding on the bus, and riding on the trains, and not one skip thus far. The headphones aren't that great and break-up earlier than I hoped that they would, but they are the kind that wrap behind your head as opposed to over the top of your head...to facilitate wearing caps and such, I suppose, but I dig the design. The headphones sound fine...I just wish I could crank it up a bit more before they started distorting. The included carrying case is a nice bonus. It's a neoprene-type fabric that stretches. All the buttons and displays are accessible, even if through the fabric, and the velcro strap allows me to attach it to my backpack. The only drawback to the carrying case design is that it's difficult to change out CD's, as the fit of the case is quite snug. The in-line remote is nice as well. I clip it to my backpack strap, so I don't have to fool around with trying to access the player's buttons when it's hanging on my backpack. All-in-all, I'd say that it's a decent player for the money. I haven't had it long enough to report about battery life, so we'll have to see how that pans out. And I'll probably get some better headphones down the road, but I really can't complain about this player at all.

Summary: You should So Get This Monster!!!
Review: This is a great CD player, worth your money bealive me I have seen my fair share of bad CD players but this one rocks. It does not skip a beat no matter what you put it through. You can count on the anti skip featur it wont matter if your running, walking or biking the music will stay intact wonderfully. The music/sound is great and very nice and not like any other CD player that I have had(before this one I used to get 60 somethin dollar sony CD players, they sont compare to this one) The way it's made rocks, the steel look the nice orange and blue color of the screens, the nice bold numbers make it easy to see aswell. Its just so sleek and cool. Alot of people ask me about it and where they could get one!. The headphones are great aswell they have not gone bad yet, So we will see but so far there great. The remote control is very handy nice long cord so you dont feel constricted but you do feel free and able to move when your one the move.

So all in all I say go ahead and get it you will be happy that you did!
