Summary: Great player, fantastic headphones.
Review: After comparing several CD players, I ordered the Philips AZ922517. My main reasons for choosing it were its appearence, my previous experience with Philips products, and the fact that it included a remote.

Out of the box, the Philips is impressive. It's large, pleather stereo headphones are great at delivering all ranges of sound. The CD player's two bass boost levels (like that of Sony's) really help with lesser headphones, which you will probably use for portable use as the standard headphones are a bit excessive. The included rechargable batteries work well. The skip protection works very well. Pressing a button will illuminate the display with a pleasant blue glow.

The remote for the unit could have been a bit better, but it is funtional. The player itself varies in thickness. At the back, it measures about 1.1 inches in height but it is quite a bit thinner in the front. However, the rest of the design is extremely compact. A good feature was the decision to place the battery compartment under the lid. The lid itself is easy to open but difficult to open accidentally. The lid is actually made of metal, which gives the player a sense of strength. You definitely get your money's worth in this CD player. I highly recommend it.

Summary: For the Cassical Music Listener
Review: As a classical-music listener, high fidelity is the most important attribute of a CD player. I am happy to state that both the player and the accompanying earphones are performing admirably. Furthermore, I dropped the player twice from a four-foot hight onto the ceramic rug-covered bathroom floor, without any resulting damage.

As for the accompanying remote, while I have no need for it, I imagine that it would be very welcome to a jogger; it does seem to function properly.

Summary: Great CD Player!
Review: Great CD player, some of the best things about it are the 45 ESP and that it can play burned CD's.

Summary: A great CD player
Review: I decided to get this CD player because:

1. I needed a new one
2. It looked great
3. It had a lot of cool features like the remote and the headphones
4. Philips is a great brand for electronics.

The CD player does look very cool, nice colors. And it has really great stuff that comes with it. I liked the remote, because it's great to jog or walk with. The headphones are okay. It's really neat how they fold up so they take up less space and have less chance of getting damaged when packed into a suitcase. The rechargeable batteries are ok, but they take a while to charge and they don't last long, only worth a few recharges.

The sound quality is great. However, I noticed that with the remote in use, the volume wasn't as great. The only problem was that it didn't get as loud with the remote as it did without it. But it wasn't that big of a problem.

The ESP works great. I jog with this CD player all the time and I have no problems with skipping. The DBB is pretty cool too, but it doesn't make that huge of a difference in sound quality.

A really great CD player, I highly recommend it.

Summary: A good player but with its eccentricities
Review: I don't know if it's just the one I got, but to get stereo sound, you have to leave to the headphone jack about 1/3 of the way out. If you press it all the way in, you get sound only in one ear. So that is odd.
Despite that, it is a good machine. Handles easily, not too heavy, good sound (when you get the headphone correct). A nice display too. Headphones that come with it are very big and not practical for on the go use. However, they are good on an airplane.
Skip function is fantastic, has an easy to read face and the bass boost is nice. Batteries last a long time, even the rechargeables.

Summary: Great Sounding and Great Looking CD Player!
Review: I purcgased this CD player because my old one burned out and I have to say that the Phillips is of a much better quality than my previous player. For one thing, and the most important thing, the sound is fantastic! I have never actually heard any of the tinniness that other reviewers have complained of. Only a large full sound that expresses all of the ranges very well. Another great feature of this CD player is the bass boost. With even the first level of boost you feel like you are in a large symphony hall, right next to the stage. ( There is also a second level for even more bass...) The CD player also comes with its own headphones, rechargeable battery, and AC adapter. The headphones are very stylish and comfortable(although they may be too large to use in public) and give a very nice sound to the music. The battery can be easily charged while leaaving the unit plugged in with the adapter for a few hours (I leave it on overnight) this charge can last for about 7 hours but does decrease with use. The player itself has a metal cover and a pretty blue/purple LCD screen. It is also compact enough to fit in mostly anywhere. Overall, I just have to say that this is a great CD player and a great buy at its cheap price. Definitely recommended!!!

Summary: A great CD player
Review: I started out with a Classic brand CD player, and it wasn't all that great. So I found this one, and decided to get it. #1 it was good looking, #2 it had a lot of stuff that came with it, and #3 it was Philips brand, which I've heard is a company of great products.

The CD player itself is pretty good. It looks nice. The headphones that come with it are okay, but I only use them occasionally. It's cool how they fold up so they take up less space when you are packing them. The remote is awesome, I always use it when I'm jogging or walking or whatever. It's very handy. The rechargeable batteries are okay as well, but they do take a lot of time to charge and they don't last forever.

The ESP works very well, as does the DBB. The volume on the CD player is great, but with the remote you'd maybe have to turn it up more to be able to hear the same volume as you would without it.

This is an overall great CD player.

Summary: Disappointing sound
Review: I tried this player because I've owned another Philips player (AZ7594 - discontinued) that is still unmatched as far as sound quality, controls, and accessories go. This player seemed comparable on paper, but I found the sound to be lacking -i.e. the bass was not that strong, the highs were too sharp and the mids were not full. Also the volume is definitely not loud enough and distorts the sound when turned up. I would not recommend this player for anyone serious about their music quality.
