Summary: Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
Review: ... this is one KILLER CD player. I bought a little pair of speakers, hooked them up in my cubical at work and ROCK OUT! It's powerful enough to entertain my neighbors (at work that is) and never, ever skips. The headphones are great, the digital bass is warm and full, and it's ultra compact, and it's good on batteries. The a/c adapter is a plus, but it's easier on batteries than any other portable CD player i've ever owned.

Go buy this and be happy.

Summary: Nice for the price with one misfire
Review: All in all, I am happy with this purchase. It is nice looking and works well, easy to function. No backlight is no big deal..yet. For the price, there probably isn't much better, and it plays CD-Rs (I can't vouch for CD-RW, I haven't tried). My main hangup is the volume control: it is in a hard to use place, a little difficult to maneuver if you are not holding the player steady with another hand or it is still, thus if its on your desk and you want to reach over and turn the volume up/down, its not as easy as it should be.....

Still, I think its a good product for the price.

Summary: so pretty...
Review: Better than a Hello Kitty CD player: it's about as small as they come, and it does not skip...not on an airplane or a bus, or in my pocket as I stroll down to buy more CD's. My only complaint is the headphones- unless mine were somehow defective, they weren't very comfortable and didn't sound very good. Even the smallest setting was too big for my head, most music could only be heard at a volume setting between 8 and 10 (max), and I couldn't listen to classical music at all. Once I started using better headphones, though, the performance was great. The "hold" feature is also very helpful if you're biking, walking, jogging, etc., as none of the buttons will accidentally go off and your music won't be interrupted. And you can't beat the faux I-Mac styling. A good value.

Summary: Nice for a while
Review: I already reviewed this cd player once, but since then I got a new computer. Now that I'm using Adaptec instead of Nero to burn my cd's, they work fine. The volume is still a little too quiet, but I can live with that.

Summary: no skips!
Review: I am really enjoying this litte CD player. I'm docking it a star, though because of a few minor things.

First of all, whenever you hit the repeat/shuffle button (called "mode"), there is an audible "beep" in whatever you are listening to and a little interuption a while later. The "beep" also happens if you hit pause, change tracks, or boost the bass. (It beeps to remind you that the machine is on pause, too- which is actually helpful.) Some people might find that mildly annoying. Others won't care.

Second, they've set it up so that when you use the mode option, you must go through the shuffle options before you get to the repeat options. The trouble is that when you engage shuffle, it goes into random search mode for a new tune on the disk interrupting whatever you are listening to. That's a problem if you decide to put the tune you were listening to on repeat because you have to move pretty quickly to the repeat function before being thrown into another selection. (This happens even if you have paused the machine.)

I've read some vague complaints about the ear phones but the phones seem fine to me except for the fact that the second level of bass boost distorts. (I don't notice a big difference when I use other ones, however.) I will say that the phones are relatively large and comfy on the ears. (They don't fold.) I'm also not sure that the jack is really conveniently placed on the unit. (It's right next to the volume control.) The battery compartment is also placed inside the unit so you have to remove the disk to change batteries. (You don't have to stuggle to get the disk on an off the hub, however, which is great.)

Basically, the problems are minor ones which you can live with. It's otherwise a sturdy little unit with great features. It's very programable. And it has shuffle, repeat, repeat all, two levels of base boost etc. It also has a scan feature that plays the first few seconds of everything. (Turn "scan" off by hitting "mode" again. That had me confused for a while!)

Summary: Not what I expected.
Review: I bought this expecting that it would allow me to play CDRW's. Not only is it skipping on my CDRW's, it's even worse on CDR's! Cd's play great, I haven't had a problem. It never skips on regular cd's. The volume is not as loud as I wanted, but would be fine for the average person. I'm going to try buying more expensive CDR's and CDRW's to see if that makes a difference. If anyone finds a brand that works very well, feel free to tell me at tcisler@hotmail.com .

Summary: Great CD Player
Review: I don't know what some of the reviewers are talking about. This is a great cd player. I've had some other cd players before but they would always skip, and because of that I couldn't run or jog with it. And also most of the headphones were horrible and would fall off. But this has been the best cd player I've gotten. It never skips while I run because of the 20 second skip protection and the headphones are great because they hug your head and won't fall off while jogging. SO I thought this was a great cd player and gave it 5 stars.
