Summary: GOOD PRICE...GOOD SOUND...GOOD LOOKING...
Review: This is an excellent CD player for the money. It is a trim, good looking, light weight unit with very decent sound quality and easy access controls. The bass boost is great and an excellent enhancement feature. The sound quality is pure and clear. The unit is easy to open, and the CD pops in and out effortlessly. The headphones are comfortable, and the anti-skip mechanism works like a dream. While the unit does lack a resume feature, at this price that should not be a deal breaker.

I know that some reviewers have complained about battery drainage, but I play it for days on end on battery power and have not had that problem. In fact, I have had no trouble with this CD player. I absolutely love it!

Summary: Mmmmmmmmmmm! Batteries
Review: This was the first portable cd player that I bought and waspleased with it for the first 3 hours. I bought this for ($) .... The price was the reason that I bought it. I read the reviews on Amazon.com and thought I was aware of all the downfalls. The sound output could have been louder for my tastes. The lack of a resume after stopping it didn't concern me. The shock protection worked well. In a car on my lap it didn't skip with anti-skip off. It took a good tap on the cover(anti-skip off) to make it skip. After a skip sometimes it took a little long to start playing music again. After around three hours of play I had to replace the batteries. I admit that I was using cheap batteries but even the best batteries wouldn't last that much longer I assume. I tested the batteries after it wouldn't use them and they were 3/4 full! I tried using some rechargables that I have but they only hold a 75% charge now so they never even played a song. So less then a week later I returned it for a full refund. After a couple of days and a little more research I just bought a Sony D-EJ611 G-Protection. I ended up spending twice as much money as I planned on but I finally have a portable cd player.

To sum up my experience, you get what you pay for. If you just planned on using the supplied AC adapter it wouldn't be of concern. Save your money and get something that won't bankrupt you in batteries.

Summary: Started off good......
Review: I bought this unit about 6 months ago and was very pleased with it when I first received it. I was taken in by the pretty cool case and went for it. At this point, this is the status:

1) The switch membrane is total .... The rewind button functions as the fast forward button and there is no way to go backwards within a song. This is a clear mechanical problem.

2) The anti-skip mechanism works poorly. Sure, it doesn't stop dead when your car hits a bump, but it sure doesn't pick back up where the song should be. It winds up skipping a groove or two (a couple of tenth's of a second) and is really annoying. I have to place it on a towel as an extra shock absorber.

3) Very sensitive to dust or smudges. Very picky with CDRs - sometimes it likes them, sometimes it doesn't. This is on the SAME disk across different days.

Bottom line - I wish I would've spent an extra 30-40 bucks and bought a better piece of equipment. I rate the sound an 8 out of 10 (but not through the included headphones), but the mechanics rate a disappointing 3 out of 10. You get what you pay for - SPEND A LITTLE MORE!

Review: Bought it, used it, it stopped, exchanged it, it stopped also. I give up and am buying something else.

Summary: This player is a JOKE!!!
Review: I bought this player to take on my 5-mile a day walks. On the first day, the headset broke because the plastic is so cheap. It constantly skips and is ruining all the CD's I use in it. The batteries bearly last two walks, for some reason, they are really drained by the player. Overall, I bought this player in December and am throwing it out in Mid February, along with two of my favorite CD's. Not a great statement about the quality for the price. Do yourself a favor and trust me on this one!

Summary: Great sound at a cheap price!
Review: I bought this for my fiancee back in October and it rocks. The sound is fantastic! For once the headphones on a low-priced player equal the output of the player. I couldn't be more pleased. Great bass and full sound. My fiancee tells me she constantly gets compliments on the look of the player as well. ...[You] can't beat the price. If you don't care about listening to the radio or other unnecessary extras, then this is the CD player for you.

I don't want to argue with the guy who gave the player to his kid who then dropped it -- I'm sure it's not the most durable thing in the world -- but who gives a CD player to a five and a half year old?

Word to the wise, always put the anti-skip on.

Summary: A really good CD player
Review: This CD player replaced my Discman, and its simply great. From the ice-blue case (pretty good after all those gray CD players) to its light weight and nice feel, this is a great portable player for all those long outings and trips. Only problem, as some others have mentioned- no resume button. But its good enough without, so I would recommend it to anybody.

Summary: Don't Buy This Product...Check the Bad Reviews!!
Review: I bought this CD player for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas and now after a months use, it no longer plays music! The Koss website does not have any support for their CD products and so any thought of returning this product is forgotten. I read all the great reviews for this product here and decided to purchase the CD player, but I am urging you not to buy it. The bad reviews are very valid!

Summary: Best CD Player EVER
Review: I don't know what that guy was thinking...getting his five-year-old son a cd player?! The thing broke! Not because of Koss! Anyway, it's the best cd player! (Though I don't have purple. The green is cool.) I've never had a problem with mine, and it's been three months. Good sound, not scratchy at all and it has a 40-second anti-skip function! Great for traveling. So what the hell was that guy saying? --Anyway, it's the best CD player ever...it's a gem not to be used by little kids! Just get them casette players in the future...!

Summary: The Christmas present that lasted a week
Review: I bought this for our son 5 1/2. He loves the color purple and I was looking for a simple player. I got it - he loved the color and it was nice and simple. Here's the but! He dropped it (one week after getting it )the top broke. Lots of tears. Called Koss Customer Service to find out that not only would they not service it, but they wanted me to mail it back with all accessories along with a check for fourty dollars. They would then send a new one! I said, "Can't I just get a new player? I don't need the accessories. Since that was full price why do I have to bother mailing it back?" "We are not a retail chain!" was the answer that I got. I will not be buying any new Koss product, if this is there idea of customer service.
