Rating: Summary: Not too good player Review: 3* for sound. ESP works great. Sound quality is good, definitely better than 2 Sony(ESP broke) units I had, but AIWA interferes with all kinds of electric equipment. While listening to my music on the train and it was picking up a static noise from the electric engines of a train, same thing happened on the escalator. For me it's a NO!
Rating: Summary: This is really superb Review: AIWA XP779 portable CD player is one of my best varieties in CD players collection and I'm delighted in having it.
Rating: Summary: defective Review: arrived defective, would only work with jack inserted halfway. pretty useless in this condition.
Rating: Summary: An AIWA fan... Review: Bought this portable CD player several weeks back and been using it daily ever since. It was pretty easy to set up (for someone who can't seem to program the VCR) after I briefly looked at the manual and simple to use even in the car, driving. The 20-sec ESP is satisfactory, although it seems to lose bits and pieces of the song when I go over bumpy roads. (Had to check if the ESP was on couple of times and it was on.) The "resume" feature is really handy, starting off where I left off. But it seems to remember that last CD's place when I pop in a new CD. Which can be kind of annoying because I have to turn it off and on again. But the sound quality is excellent and it never skips. The backlit LCD feature has helped me a lot in the dark, too. This Aiwa XP-779 Portable CD Player has taken enough abuse from me but it's still very sturdy and works excellent. A great deal for the price.
Rating: Summary: Good sound, when it plays Review: Bought this to play in car and for trips. Didn't skip, but would stop playing the current song for no apparent reason. I would have to skip to next song to get it to play. After a while it's a nuisance. I then bought the newest Sony that has all the same features (ems, car ready, bass, etc.) and threw the Aiwa in the trash.
Rating: Summary: Great Fun! Review: EASY to use (especially if you glance at the instructions) and glorious sound. My new singing buddy follows me from home to car to office and back, allowing me to create the environments I enjoy. I recommend you get a couple of Phoebe Snow and Diana Krall cds and Clint Eastwood's Carnegie Hall set. Heavenly experiences. This player comes with the earphones, the ac adapter, the car kit, and the car adapter. AND it sounds wonderful.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Sound, Uneasy Setup Review: Getting the thing started out of the box is a little "interesting," from the vacuum-tight package to the different way the unit is turned on and music is played. The BASS (EASS) is automatically turned on every time you start the unit, even if you've turned it off before to conserve power. Once you get past everything, the unit is *GREAT*. The best portable I've ever heard, and the skip protection is second only to the yellow, Panasonic "brick" models. Great sound, and affordable. I love the battery life light!!!
Rating: Summary: pretty tight Review: great cd player sound is good.Okay size, very good looking too and at a good price.
Rating: Summary: a bad choice Review: I bought this cd playerlast December and it's already broken. It broke in June. It's not somthing that I did to it, The main gear inside it just got stripped. I love Aiwa products but this didn't even last for over a half a year!
Rating: Summary: pretty tight Review: I bought this product after reading online reviews. Originally I was in the market for a Sony. When I read how satisfied others were with the Aiwa XP-779, I changed my mind. I bought it over a year ago and haven't a complaint! The anti-shock system is excellent! I never found the features difficult to operate, it seemed simple to me. Also, the rechargeable battery function is priceless! I just charge them up before I go away and leave the other attachments at home! If you want a reliable cd player, buy this one, you won't regret it!
