Rating: Summary: It's alright. Review: Like the other reviewer says, "It gets the job done."
Rating: Summary: A Warning To First-time Sony Users Review: Maybe you've used Sony since they introduced the portable cd player-- maybe not. If you're considering switching over to them, I'd advise you not to. This doesn't just go for this product, as I found it is the same with most of their CD players. Allow me to explain:First, the Pros to using Sony: -name-brand, gives you a sense of trust -long battery life -good anti-shock in most new models ..and the Cons: -you will find that your sense of trust in this name brand will soon disappear, as using the product for the first time might make you think :"why did i pay so much for something i could have gotten BETTER? " -Sony does not make good headphones. They lose sound on many occasions, making you have to fork out another 15 bucks. (as if you didnt pay enough) -Some of their features listed on the box are nowhere to be found in the instruction booklet, making it difficult for one to use the CD player. -The warranty only lasts 90 days, and as you will see, you will end up throwing out your Sony after 90 days due to failure.. (more money) --HOW Do I know this? Well.. I owned a Sony 3 years ago-- my first ever CD player. It broke after 3 months and 120 dollars later. I made the mistake of thinking Sony meant long-lasting quality. The problem was the sound went out and never came back! My warranty had expired, so therefore, I had to buy a new player. 2 years later, I got a Sony for a gift, decided it was worth another try. The same thing happened! It always seems to happen 90 days AFTER buying.. hmmm.. Well, that's just my side of it. Sure, some may love their Sonys, but truth is, you can save so much and get such a better, longer lasting CD player!
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: My advice -- avoid this product. Within three months of light use, it began skipping ever more frequently. Within six months it had deteriorated to the point that I had to stand completely still to avoid the skips. So much for portable listening. For the price I expected durability. What I got was a disappointment.
Rating: Summary: Not something I would buy again Review: Sony basically makes a pretty lousy portable cd player. I got one for Christmas a year and a half ago, and it might as well be dead. I treat it very well, but somehow : A.) It skips excessively B.) Right side of headphones don't work C.) Cannot read disc half of the time D.) Even when I pop in a BRAND NEW cd, and the discman isn't bumping around, it STILL skips. E.) I'll be listening to a cd and sometimes the cd player will just stop for no reason (fresh batteries, mind you) and it happens A LOT! There are some good sides though, it has a GREAT battery life and the sound WAS good while it lasted. If I were you though I would stay away from this brand, another brand to avoid is RCA. Try Philips Magnavox, they work REALLY good.
Rating: Summary: WARNING: THIS PRODUCT SUCKS Review: that is what should be written on the box. the sound quality is bad, and it skips a lot. for 60 bucks, you can get a much better one
Rating: Summary: its not very good Review: this cd player is kinda good, not as good for jogging, if you even tap on it, it skips, pretty plain, not much, but it gets tht job done if its on a flat table.
Rating: Summary: DON:T BUY THIS!!!!!!! Review: This CD player is nothing but a pieace of junk. I've had mine for about a year and and the skip protection is not that great. And if you plan on using it in the winter outside (I like to listen to music walking to class, i am in college) then this one won;t help. If it is even RWEMOTELY cool outside it will shut off on it's own all the time making it impossible to listen to anything. Now...I dunno, but CD players are not supposed to do that...especially a portable one ment to be carried around. DO NOT BUY THIS! It's a waste of money!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: It does the job Review: This Discman does the job quite nicely. I got it to replace a Panasonic portable CD player from 1994 and was pleasantly surprised at how much better it is. The battery life is WAY longer. I haven't actually counted, but the 16-hour advertised battery life sounds just about right. I used to use the AC adapter all the time with the Panasonic, but I don't even bother with this Discman. ESP works great to prevent skipping, and it rarely skips under normal conditions even without ESP (my old player skipped constantly, especially in the car). The sound is great. There's two bass settings, megabass and groove. I find groove to be TOO bass-y, but megabass is just right. The only feature I really miss is backlighting on the display when running off AC power. The Panasonic had that, and it made using the player at night in a car a lot easier. Also, when you hit pause, the player beeps regularly and frequently. This is good because you don't accidentally leave it in pause and chew up all your battery life, but it's really irritating when you've paused it to talk to someone and you keep hearing this beeping.
Rating: Summary: A great player. A value at this price. Review: This is a great looking and sounding player. It's much more sleek than the pictures seem to represent. The sound quality is great. The headphones that are delivered do sound great, but, hey, maybe it's just me, but they really make my ears warm. It's almost like wearing earmuffs. If I were to make one suggestion on how to create more value/quality to this product offering, I would suggest Sony try different headphones, or better yet, offer a choice to those purchasing on the Web. In addition to the quality of the sound, you also have a plethora of options when using the player. It's easy to program your own playlist, set one song to repeat, or put the player in "hold" status so that you don't either accidentally turn it off or on. Enough said. This is a player I would recommend to any music lover.
Rating: Summary: Great CD Player Review: This was a great cd player. I have only had it since June 7, about two weeks ago. It gets the job done well and has not broken. It has two kinds of Mega Bass. It has an adapter plug, which you can also plug a second set of headphones in so two people can listen. It has two kinds of volume, normal and limit, which you can switch if the normal low is too high or the limit high is too low. It has repeat, resume, and random, along with all these other features. It has Anti Shock, or ESP. With all these features this cd player will last you and me a lifetime. And it won't break any time soon.
