Summary: A GREAT CD PLAYER!
Review: I use my player everyday when I walk to school. The play was great and the radio was as good as any on the market. I have had it for about a year and I have not had any problems with it. I highly recommend this CD player to everybody.

Summary: Not typical Sony quality
Review: I was immediately disappointed with the build quality of my shiny new Discman. It doesn't have the "Sony feel" that I expected it to have. The headphones are the plug-in type which become painful after a while. Battery life is quite bad too. Other than that its cool!

Summary: Disappointed with quality
Review: It felt cheap! I expected rock solid quality and craftsmanship. The lid wiggled when closed and the buttons were cheap. I returned it to the store for my money back! Stay away from this discman!

Summary: One Dud...Other one works great
Review: The first one that I bought had an recurring problem in which the right audio channel would fade in a out. Eventually, the right side quit altogether, with the warrantee expiring just days before. Fortunately, my credit card's extension of the warrantee allowed me to get a new one.

The second unit was virtually flawless. I've had it for more than a year, with no sign of the right-side problem. The features are substantial, though slightly lagging behind Sony's current generation of G-Shock ESP; suitable for walking, though not heavy jogging, the ESP2 offers excellent skip protection for most activities. The "Groove" sound enhancement greatly increases the Bass to near-obscene levels (you can turn it off it you'd like), and the battery life is moderate. The crowning jewel, though, is obviously the addition of an AM/FM radio. Granted, the unit does not have the clearest reception, though it more than adequately picks up radio stations within a reasonable radius. Sound quality is excellent, and not the least bit tinny.

My only serious gripe: the plastic case. For over $100, it just feels less substantial than Sony's previous products. Just don't drop it.

Summary: Looking for something stylish?
Review: This Diskman is stylish, compact, and to say the least, on of the best all around Cd Players i have ever purchased. THe quality is perfect. The ESP Feature is flawless, you can literally shake the Diskman without hearing one skip. The Song are smooth, even on scratched up cd's that won't play on other cd players. The buttons are easy to use and memorize, making it easy to be able to listen to music right before you go to bed or while your jogging. One of the best things of all is that you can use a rechargable battery with it, NEVER WORRY ABOUT BATTERIES AGAIN!!!!! If you still are unsure abotu this Cd Player, get this......IT HAS A BUILT IN RADIO!!! And switching from radio to cd's is as easy as 1 2 3! The Reception is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Another great thing about this is the bass features. It gives you 2 EXTRA levels of bass that you can apply to both cds AND the radio!!! If you are looking fr a high quality, efficent, well-priced protable cd-player ADD THIS TO YOUR CART NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: The Best CD Player I've Ever Had
Review: This is the best cd player i've ever had. I'm like most older kids, prone to break things. But this has taken a lot of abuse from me and it still works great. The sound is great and the Groove bass boost almost blows you away. The radio reception is crystal clear if you are listening to a station with a powerful frequency, and only a little fuzzy with less powerful ones. Not to mention it has over 20 station presets. The only characteristic that could pose a problem is the bulkiness of the player. It is a little thicker than other players. But the minor problems are easily compensated for by the great sound and the radio feature. This is a player you must buy.

Summary: Best Portable CD Player I've Ever Had
Review: This is the best Portable CD Player I've ever had! I've yet to get a CD Player for my car, and, thus, I just keep plugging my portables into the tape deck. However, every other Portable I've had jumps and skips all the way down the road. It's so annoying! This one, however, bounces all around the front of my car without skipping a beat! It just, finally, hit the floor too hard this time, causing me to have to buy another, but buy another I will do for this player!

Summary: RAverage Player, Decent Radio, Instead, go Panasonic
Review: This model is one of the 2 Sony Discman players I own currently. The player is nice in that it has the Groove sound equalizer...as far as I can discern, Groove balances things out and makes it really bass-y, but not OVERLY bass-y. Megabass is for those that want to DROWN THE SONG OUT...instead of hear it, Groove is a lot better. The radio is great, IN MOST CASES. Your antenna is not only the headphone cord, but YOU...so sit nice and it works okay. I found that the Walkman cassette player/AM FM player that Sony makes has a better radio. Since then, it's nothing but that for me, so the cd player sits on the shelf currently. If you want a great quality cd plater with radio, do what Topher would...get the Shockwave player, Panasonic brand. It's muy more expenisio than this player, but it's damn well worth it. (think around $175.00 or more.)
