Summary: The BEST
Review: I own a original EXP103, and it is great. Of course, I bought it while the CDRW and MP3 tech was still over [dollar amount], but it is money well spent. Competing technology did not have the features i wanted on the EXP. For instance, the Resume/Hold, Two output jacks, and full car/home kit. A competitor at the time, the Rio VOLT had features i wanted, like BackLight and Title display, and a navigate button, but the EXP had the main features i needed. If philips would release a model with all those features, i would upgrade in a heartbeat. For those who dont like the EXP, you don't know what you are talking about. If your MP3's are skipping, it is because your recorder [stinks], not the player. Buy new discs and recorder then try again. For audio discs, make sure the ESP is on, and because the player is very sensitive, excessive jarring associated with running is not recommended for CDDA (Audio CD) discs. MP3 cd's will play without skipping 99.9% of the time with even Bumpy-road jitter.

Summary: I love this CD player. What's with all the complaints?
Review: I paid 15 dollars for just the cd player without the kit. i use it in my car all the time. First of all, it does skip, sometimes. I had the same problem where it kept speeding up. But i cleaned the disk and the sensor and it ended up working fine. For the money I paid, it does its job. I was thinking about splurging and spending 150 dollars on one, but then realized that I really don't need to spend that money. Anyway the pro's and con's are listed belowPros: *CHEAP

*Looks pretty cool
*Great surfing (for a non ID3 tag cd player)
*Good volume
*I like the button placement Cons: *Sometimes speeds up (skipping)
*NO ID3 (but you get what you paid for) The pro's do outweigh the cons, and I would recommend this to anyone.

Review: I really like the Philips Expanium cd/mp3 player because it's compact and the sound is great. But the only thing I am not satisfied with is, it has no belt clip or adapter and it's inconvenient to carry around and the battery use doesn't last but a few days.

Review: i was happy to have this discman. but lately it is giving me some problems. whenever i try to change the title or new song it goes back to the 1st song and i cant play the song i want to but i have to start listening to song from the 1st one.any one to solve my problem.

Review: My kids recieved 2 expanium mp3 players for Christmas, they are now both in the trash because they wouldn't play, they would only read 'oops' on the digital display.With only about 10 to 30 hours play time my daughters' gave out, my sons' held out for about twice as long. One bright note on the car adapter kit supplied, they work excelent with my 6 year old, been everywhere, beat up, abused Sony CD player.

Review: The 201 is an attractive compact model, but...
I have owned 2 model EXP103 for about 1 year and they have terrific sound, no skipping, and great 8-10 hour battery life. Unfortunately, the EXP201 I bought skipped and the same NiMH batts lasted about 4 hours. Also more spin/rotation noise than the earlier EXP103 model. I do think Philips has the best drive system, based on my experience and reviews. I have bought and returned a couple other brands recently. I should just give up and buy a RIO and maybe try the EXP301. [...].

Review: The EXP201 should be avoided unless you plan to use it as a desktop model and you get it for next to nothing. Want to jog? Prepare for audio torture: The skipping is atrocious, even with the apparently useless ESP feature on. I returned one for speeding up (think chipmunks) about halfway through some discs. The replacement does this as well. Also, I now note poor scratchy sound at the very beginning of most discs. The sound is OK when these problems aren't in effect. The MP3 labeling system is a joke, just numbers and no way to skip ahead by more than one.
