Summary: Best CD player I've ever bought!
Review: ...I saw this one and checked out its rating by other people. They gave it 5 stars, so I thought that'd I'd buy it... and am I glad that I did!!!! It's the best one out there! When it says, "No skip," it means it! Truly nothing has jarred it yet!! The first time I got it, I drove it around my college campus, and with all of my campus' speed bumps and rough patches, it didn't skip one beat!! It passed my test--if it can withstand the stopping and turning of my driving on campus, it surely can withstand your bumpy streets, etc.! It's wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone!!! The sound is great, the remote is perfect for a car, it doesn't skip and it's great with it's headphones! Great buy!! You'll love it!

Summary: High Infant Mortality Rate
Review: Dont' waste your money. I bought this model after the previous model's anti-skip died two weeks after the warranty expired. I've had this about 8 months and it will not longer work with batteries, only external power. If I could give it zero stars I would. Two in a row is enough to convince me Panasonic makes junk and I'll never buy a Panasonic item again!

Summary: Best CD player on the market
Review: For those looking for a good brand, good quality, and reasonably priced CD player with a car kit - this is the one. It is light weight and has a cool design. The headphones are great; they provide the highest quality sound. This CD player really is everything that it claims to be. The car kit is awesome, great sound (i.e. just like having a CD player installed in your car).

In my opinion Panasonic is the best electronics brand on the market. I never had any problems with anything I bought from them. If you're someone looking for a lot of features in a CD player, this one doesn't have the MP3 player, funky headphones, etc. You might want to buy a different one. But stick with Panasonic. It really is the best.

Summary: Was great at first...but soon couldn't play cd-r's
Review: I admit this cd player was great and worth its money at first, lightweight, cool-looking, and it didn't skip. But what I didn't know is that after 3 weeks, when I played my CD-R's I discovered that after about Track 5 it would play fuzzy and scratchy, basically not listenable. Well it was alright as long as I could play Regular cd's, but it was a pain. Ah but months later, I went to play a regualar cd, and it wouldn't play, It said "NO DISK" when there actually was a disk in there. It is now disabled and worthless. I suggest you try something else.

Summary: Definitely Worth It
Review: I bought this CD Player while actually searching for the older model on sale, which I had owned, and had broken. I just can't get over it, because it's so cute! It's perhaps half a centimeter thicker than the previous one, and the setup is on the side in three circles rather then in the middle in that odd rectangle of blue that the old one had. The headphones are the same, and this model seems to be designed slightly more efficiently in that the volume is by button, not by the little nob that you turn from one to ten, and instead of the randomizer and hold being on the side, the only thing on the side now is the hold button and the headphone jack, making the buttons and options much better organized in my opinion.

Another thing that I just love is the tiny little remote, which is approx. 1.5 inches by 2.5 inches, and is simply adorable. One might ask why you would need a remote in a portable cd player, but it's very handy if you don't want to hold it and can put it away in a bag with your headphones sticking out, and put the remote in your pocket or such, seeing as the remote works when the machine is on hold. The remote can't turn the player on and off, which could be good if you don't want the remote to accidentally play your cds, but bad if you want to turn it on while it's in your bag.

All in all, it's definitely worth the money, especially if you get your parents to pay for most of it like I did! ^_^

Summary: Close but no cigar...
Review: I could not give this unit a 5 star rating (even though I agree with all reviewers that it doesn't skip, is reasonably priced, is light weight and easy-to-use) because of the tremendous amount of difficulty I had in obtaining the "options" not included. There are 2 optional accessories not included: a car-mounting kit and special Panasonic rechargeable NiCd batteries. I was especially keen on getting these batteries as the unit cannot be used to charge rechargeable batteries other than those designed for it.

Unfortunately I could find NO ONE who sold them--including vendors who sold this unit (like Amazon). But, to be fair, even PANASONIC'S online shop did not sell them! I ended up phoning Panasonic, who gave me the number of a small local dealer who was able to special order them for me (prepaid, of course). The car-mounting kit was $50. The batteries $12--although the seller was unable to tell me whether that was per battery or per pkg of more than one battery--I've yet to receive them (it takes about a week). Good luck finding any NiCd batteries anywhere these days! They're all NiMh now...

Summary: Do your homework, then come back to this winner!
Review: I did my homework on personal cd players and I'm really glad I did. I could NOT be more pleased with the Panasonic SX282. I use it when I'm exercising and I've never had it skip even once. I sort of dismissed the fact that it came with a remote, as I didn't think I'd ever use it. But now I don't know how I'd do without it!. I put the player itself into a Case Logic camera case (which is the PERFECT size for the cd player and a couple of cds as well as some extra batteries) and it hooks around my waist. The velcro remote just pulls right off the camera-case and ZAP! I'm able to control volume, repeat songs, skip songs, whatever. Very handy when you're at the gym. And of course it comes with the car kit which is pretty handy as well. The headphones are surprisingly well-built too and stay put even when you're on the move.
All in all, I am very, very satisfied with the SX282. So if you're being a "good consumer" then you'll read some reviews on different models. My recommendation is that you make this cd player your final stop.

Summary: Buy It Now
Review: I have always had great experiences with Panasonic and buying this portable CD player just made me even more content with Panasonic. When they say NoSkip, they mean it. It hasn't skipped a single beat at all. It is light, small, and easy to take anywhere. The car kit is great too! The big LCD screen is a plus and easy to read. To top this all off you get a cool little remote that you can use while driving or whatever you're doing without getting distracted. That way you won't cause any road rage. The headphones and extra bass make you feel like your hearing the music live. Basically, just buy it! It's the best!

Review: I have had this item for a few days now and I love it. It does not skip at all and I have hit a lot of bumps to and from my locations. The only problem I have having is that the cassette is sounding scratchy. I cleaned the cassette player and put in another cassette - this cassette did not sound scratchy, but the cassette used to play this item in my car is scratchy. It is a good product other than that. Maybe I need to turn the volume down. :-)
