Summary: I thought it was called the "Panasonic Jogger"
Review: Despite the product name, it is impossible to jog with this machine. For the first twenty minutes or so, it works reasonably well, with only a few skips every now and then. But after that, it gets worse and worse until by the end (I usually run for an hour) it stops 20 or 30 seconds for each second of music that it plays. It works just fine when I'm walking, but then, it's not called the "Panasonic Walker." I had frankly hoped for something better from Panasonic.

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST PORTABLE CD PLAYER AROUND
Review: I Live In Johannesburg South Africa. I Am Going On A (26 Hour) Train Ride And Wanted A Portable CD Player That Had The Best Anti-Skip System At A Reasonable Price. I Bought It For R1000, Slightly More Expensive Than America, But It Was Worth It. I Hooked It Up To My R2500 Hifi System And The Radio Reception Is At Least 10 Times Better Than The Hifi's One, And The CD's Quality Is At Least 50 Times Better Than My Hifi's CD Sound Quality. The Remote Control That Came With It Is Absoultely Awesome. It Plays All My Home-Recorded CD's With No Problem, And The Best Part About It Is That Almost No Matter How Much You Test Its Anti-Skip System, It Will Never Skip. GUARANTEED. I Highly Recommend This Player To Anyone Who Wants A Good, Affordable, CD Player With Radio And Remote Control. (Or Anyone Who Wants A Portable CD Player, Because It Is The Best Out There)

Summary: great while it lasted
Review: I really loved this cd player. It had everything a girl could want: resume play, a hold button, a puase button, great sound and it didn't skip. Unfortunatly however, less than 6 months after I bought it it dropped from a chair and broke in half and I couldn't fix it. So I really recommend this player but be sure to be careful w/ it.

Summary: Don't buy it - too fragile
Review: My daughter purchased a Panasonic SL-SX289V. Within
a couple of weeks it was busted. It fell onto a
linoleum floor from a height of 2.5 ft and was ruined.
The hinge/latch mechanism was shattered.

A few bumps are inherent in the life of a portable
electronics gadget of any kind. Clearly Panasonic
didn't do their homework in designing their CD players.

Summary: GREAT!
Review: So far, I've been ecstatic with every Panasonic product I've bought. I purchased a DVD from them 2 years ago, and it's never skipped. Then, I bought a Panasonic VCR through Amazon. Once again, it's superior. When it came time to replace my old Sony portable cd player...naturally, I went to Panasonic, and to Amazon (the best brand at the best price). Not only does the player not skip on my daily train ride, but it even played a butchered cd flawlessly. No other player has ever been able to do this. The 40 seconds of shock protection make it immaculate. Even the radio reception is awesome (to use an 80's word)! It's worth every penny--and believe me--it rare that I say things like that!!

Summary: Poor CD Player
Review: The Panasonic SLSX289V portable CD player is the poorest machinery I've ever experienced using. It easily malfunctions when you put in a CD recordable disc, and there is no anti-shock button on the CD player, to prevent it from skipping.

When I had to get this product fixed, Panasonic didn't do anything about it. Basically all that I got from this CD player, was a [$$$] AM/FM radio. What a waste of good money.

If you're looking for a good portable CD player with a radio, get the Aiwa XP-R220.

Summary: NOT for Joggers
Review: This CD player is NOT for joggers. While I was walking at a fast pace, but not jogging, the CD player skipped for a second or two, which isn't too bad. As soon as I started running, it stopped playing, when I stopped running, it started playing again. It doesn't work when you are running!! Please, if you work out, don't get this player, go get the Sony Sport!!
