Rating: Summary: Looks cool, sounds good, your friends will be impressed. Review: First, the player is extremely small and lightweight; however you *really* don't want to drop it on the ground or use while, say, engaging in any sort of "extreme" sport. The lid is a fraction wobbly (It doesn't feel like it will fall off, but I'd expect a more precise fit from Sony) but closes with a very satisfying "click" sound. It has a nice satiny metallic silver finish, that unfortunately is subseptable to scratching. Scratches can be avoided by keeping the player in the nice charcoal-colored carrying case it comes with. This case has an adjustable hand strap, and openings for the display, the power input and headphone jacks. While in the case it's impossible to change CDs and very difficult to adjust the volume or engage/disengage the Hold feature. The headphone jack has an extra port in order to accomodate (Sony) headphones with an inline remote, that oddly are not availible with this model (I tried calling Sony to no avail. Hopefully these headphones will be availible in the future). The accompanying headphones are of standard quality and don't handle bass at high volumes well (they sound great at middle volumes); you'll want to get a new pair ASAP (the matching Street Style ones, for example). The display glows turquoise when the player is plugged in with the car or standard adapter. This feature can't be turned on or off and does not operate with batteries. The G-Protection is excellent and works extremely well (assuming the CD playing is clean and not too scratched); keep in mind, however, that if you jostle the player continuously, while it won't skip it will drain your batteries faster. The bass boost is great and actually enhances all frequencies, not just the low ones. The only real complaint I have about the player is the placement of the controls; while asthetically pleasing they are not in the most ergonomic places. Ideally you should be able to, say, hold it in your right hand and operate it with your right thumb. Instead you have to hold it in one hand and operate it with the other. This may not seem like a big deal, but if your other hand is carrying shopping bags, or whatever, this becomes annoying. Also, if you are looking to use the player as your car's CD player often, note that the volume controls and Open switch might be hard to use while driving. Other than that it's a great player and I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: The Best Of The Best Review: First, the Sony Discman with G-Protection is great! Althought a bit pricey, it is well worth the cost. If comes with a number of accecories. One, which is great is the CD converter. All you do is put a tape which is given to you in a tape player and hook the tape up to the CD player with the cord. Now, you can listen to music if your car does not have a CD player. Two other items are the cigarette lighter adapter and of course the AC adapter. It also come with a nice black leater carrying case which is great. It could fit a little better around the CD player but it is still good. It has a 32 hour battery life on 2 AA batteries. It can charge re-chargeable batteries with its AC adapter or car adapter. It almost never skips. There may be a rare occasion that it does. If you hit stop you can return to the exact second of the song you were on just by hitting play. A great feature. It has a hold switch so you don't accidently skip over to the next track. It is very light and very portable. It comes with a total of three bass levels. On the backlit display, you can view the life of your batteries. However, the display is only backlit if it connected to another power source other than batteries. It has great quality sound and 30 levels of loudness. The headphones are good. There is also program up to 64 songs. Out of all CD player's that I have tried and looked at, going from one hour battery life on four AA's to this, you should certanly get this one. Well worth its cost, if you want to get a CD player, this is one that you shouldn't pass up!
Rating: Summary: never had a problem Review: I don't know what some of you are talking about, this is an excellent cd player. And its been through some rough times with me too! I think some of you may confuse this player with another one, b/c it does have buttons for volume control, not a wheel. And with the supplied leatherlike (its not leather, but its good enough), small drops won't harm it. Obviously is you viciously throw it up against a wall, 1/8 inch of leatherette won't do anything. But it certainly prevents it from getting scratched damaged when it falls on its side. Overall- I give it high marks. Obviously I don't use the standard headphones, they always stink. To the person that compains of the right speaker not working, thats a common problem with any set of standard headphones. I spent 10 bucks for a pair of sony ear buds. Its a great investment, if you're going to spend 140 bucks (shop around though, I got it for 100), you might as well spend the extra 10 for a decent pair of headphones.
Rating: Summary: Love it. Review: I got this Discman as a Christmas present last year and I absolutely love it. This is the second Discman that I've had (my first one - which was one of the older Sony Discmen - broke). Compared to my old one, this one is so much better! My first Discman said it was an anti-skip Discman, but it actually skipped everytime I put it down or picked it up. It was way too big and didn't provide all the nice features this new one has. Of course, I think the new Sony Discmen that have AM/FM Radios are much better than this - one of my friends has that kind - but this one is almost as good. This Discman is small and in the shape of a CD, and it is very light. In fact, when I first held it, I had a hard time trying to get used to holding it because I was so used to carrying heavy Discmen! The silver on the Discman makes it easier to see. And it is definitely an anti-skip Discman. I can go anywhere with it and do anything with it and it will not skip once. Why, how nice! There's a little wrist-strap so you can hold onto it and it won't slip from your hands. And when you press the stop button while listening to a CD - as long as you keep the CD inside the Discman and do not open it - then when you press play again, no matter how long you've waited, it will go right to where you stopped it! All the control buttons are easy to find and get to. Plus, in addition to this, you get an AC Adaptor so when you don't want to use battries, you can just plug in the AC Adapter. This Discman is really great and one of the best out there. It's definitely worth your money and if you love music, then this will not disappoint you. The music you hear from this Discman comes out clear and awesome. The headphones are pretty good, too and fit right on your head (I usually have problems with stuff like headphones, goggles, and glasses because I've got a small head!). This is far better then some of those other Discmans I've seen. Go out and buy this! I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Average performance on my Sony CD Walkman Review: I have a Sony D-FJ61 CD Walkman which is almost similar to DEJ616CK but has a FM/AM synthesizer tuner radio in it. This is my first Sony product. I now have it for two weeks and still working strong. I've give it three stars because some Sony parts are falling into pieces. Cons:The cover lid is loose and couldn't be seal tightly, sound isn't loud enough all the way to max volume, sometimes my battery indicator quited working, when I insert a new cd sometimes it doesn't started in track one, the headphone is in a poor balancing position, sometimes the cd spinner makes a loud knocking sound while you inserted a new cd, and the battery cover lid couldn't be closed tightly.Pros:Great battery life, bass and treble gives excellent sound quality, superior G-Protection performance, sounds coming out from the headphone is superb. Those who looking for a reliable and solid portable cd player, I suggest you not to get a Sony, RCA, GPX, GE, AudioPhase, Koss, and Aiwa (Aiwa is made by Sony).

Rating: Summary: A very good sony player Review: I have had sony players before and this one is the best. If you spent the same amount of money on a different brand you would not have made a good buy. The g-protection is great and tops and brands protection. The sound is great and it is easy to use. I am only 13 and this player fits me fine. The digital volume is cool too. It is in a shiny metalic paint that makes it look cooler. Over all this is a great player and it is worth ever cent.
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: I love this CD player. The best feature is the anti skip technology. I take it when I rollerblade or in the car and it hasn't skipped once! Truly amazing. The case it comes with makes it very easy to hold in your hand as you walk, run or blade, and leaves all the controls available at the same time. The only thing is you have to completely take the player out to change a disc. The design is really sleak and streamlined. The player is barely larger in circumfrence than a CD and it's very light too. Another great feature is the audio out jack. With this you can connect it to a tape or MD recorder and make your own recordings! Big plus! Some quibbles. The headphones (like just about every portable) are not very good, and I never use them. The CD lid is a bit shaky feeling, though I haven't had a problem with it. Finally I would have liked the chousing to be a bit more thin. But these are just minor things. I'd suggest this player for anyone. Active or not, you never want your music to skip and this device lowers that probablity to almost zero and keeps things stylish at the same time!
