Rating: Summary: I can suggest better if you want the same thing Review: Buy the DFS601 model. Trust me. It is so much better than this. I owned this model for a while and returned it for the one I suggested. What I didn't like about this: You can't turn the volume up very high. Forget about the bass settings. What I experienced is annoying static at high volume levels. Any amount of bass comes back as static. It is as if it cannot process high amounts of volume or bass. The button placement is terrible. The buttons are tiny and flimsy. I felt as if I could break it easily. The lid opens too easily, which makes it not ideal for jogging, exercise. But hearken! Buy the S2 sports model (DFS601)! It is so much better. I even wrote a review about it and you can read it. It can handle big volume and has so many extras I don't even know why Sony sells the DFJ401 model.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: everythings good...sound quality, never skips, battery life. only two problems. due to the fact that it has no antenna the reception for radio tv and wb can get pretty bad. also the head fones r really bad (broke them in less then a week)

Rating: Summary: This is a great Player, highly recommended Review: I got this player as a present around 1 year ago. I was really impressed with the sleeknesss and cool design, and how it had an AM/FM tuner. (it has AMAZING reception for a cd player! I live in pittsbug and I got stations from PHILADELPHIA! pa) As for playing CD's, it has never failed me. Not once, not ONCE has this player skipped. For background info, although it does not say so, it is really water resistant. (I am a member on a swim team that goes to long 1 week away meets almost once a month, and this player goes with me EVERYWHERE. To the pool, hotel, restaurants, everywhere I have dropped it a few (to say the least...) times, and it played great afterwards.)) The headphones, are, erm... not the greatest. (Since I gave it 5 stars, all of the other good features out-weighed the bad ones...)They sound fine, but i do recommed getting new ones. (you don't have to spend a lot either, i am currently using Koss KSC-50's, wich sound GREAT, and they were only $13) The sounds that the player picks up on the sound are incredible. really. I am currently using Good Charlotte 'The Young and the Hopeless' and one track 4, you can hear the guitars as if they were right near you. You can hear their fingernails plucking the strings. ( Its not a bad thing, they sound so much better!) The on thing I do have to point out is the bass. IT IS OUTSTANDING! The only other thing I complain about is the ambsence of a clip or hand strap, but i bought one and it works fine. I highly recommend this player. (It is ANYTHING BUT flimsy..... no hard feelings!)

Rating: Summary: CD discman Review: I love this discman! I've had it for 2 years, and it's still going strong!
Rating: Summary: Good quality, puzzling design Review: If you really like a TV tuner to go with your radio and CDs, this is probably your best bet. FM reception is adequate (yours may vary of course), the shock protection is great (even without it on, I really have to get carried away with the finger-tapping to make it skip). On the flip side, the placement of buttons and switches can be maddening. The shock protection switch is inside and *under* where the disc is placed, meaning you have to not only stop the disc if it's already playing, but take it out. Also, the DX/local switch is under the lid, and you need a pointed object to change it (not an uncommon event if you're on the move). You can be resourceful and use the headphone plug, but you shouldn't HAVE to. Another mixed result is the three "favorites" buttons. It would be a LOT more handy if they were linked to your regular presets; As it is, if you were to advance the tuner from any of the favorites, it'd take you back to preset #1. If you're the patient type and think these will only be minor issues, then this is probably the player for you... The deciding factors will probably be the TV tuner, and the round shape (while convenient, it might make it easier to drop).
Rating: Summary: Not the best, but it pleases. Review: The SONY D-FJ401 is anything but "junk". As a review reader, I like to read the cons first... Cons: - The included headphones work quite well at first, but it'll die on you sooner or later. I had to buy another pair of headphones. - I'm not complaining that it's heavy, but I'd say it'd be better if it was more lighter. - The controls can be a bit confusing at first (with it being almost an all-in-one). Pros: - Plays burnt compact discs as well as regular discs. - I've dropped this on marble tile about three to five times and it kept playing smoothly when I picked it off the floor. The interface isn't even damaged (yet). I received this player as a gift and I do not regret it. I still think it's the best for my needs.
