Rating: Summary: done at 6 months, too! Review: After about 6 months of great performance, this "joggable" is gone. Skip, skip, skip. I'm back to the old cassette player until I try another "sport friendly" cd player. I've been loyal to Aiwa from past experiences. However, it's time for another brand.
Rating: Summary: Stopped playing after 6 months!! Review: After having this for 6 months the Cd's just stopped playing. First thought it was the batteries. But then it just STOPPED. I was totally [...]!! I paid [...] bucks. Plus headphones were too bulky when working out at the gym. Buttons weren't easy to push so I had to keep pulling out of my case. Disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Nice price Review: But the price got even better AFTER I received mine. I paid 99 bucks and now you can get it for 89 bucks. Oh well, you can't win them all. The unit seems like it will do everything I need. It would be nice to have a belt clip with it. I wasn't that concerned about a belt clip initially because it's advertised as including a sports pouch. Just like another reviewer though I found that it does NOT include one. Overall I think the player will do what I want and that is to take the boredom out of jogging/
Rating: Summary: Aiwa Cross Trainer Review: Everybody is cautious about spending [money] on such a small machine! But this is truly worth the money! I read all of these reviews and many of the complaints aren't true in my case. I owned a piece of junk CD player before and I wanted a durable, well-sounding Portable CD player this time. The sound quality and EASS system in this are the best I have ever heard. I'm comparing this to a Panasonic and Lenox. The radio is great and picked up all my favorite stations! It's an easy to work machine too and great for people who are clueless when it comes to working machines like me! Trust me, I know there are a lot of choices out there, but this is the best I have ever owned!
Rating: Summary: great sound, poor mechanics and warranty Review: great sound when it plays. it breaks down quickly and warranty is only 90 days. look elsewhere
Rating: Summary: Looks like it has everything Review: I bought this as a present and it seems to be everything I was looking for, but my one question is why no clip to attach while jogging, and where is the sport pouch? I don't see one included.
Rating: Summary: Nice CD Player with AM/FM Stereo tuner. Review: I bought this unit for my wife for Christmas and have found it to be an overall excellent unit thus far. It has excellent non fatiguing sound. That is it does not have sizzling over emphazised highs nor heavy boomy bass. If you want that, look elsewhere. The sound is well balanced. The two bass boost settings do come in handy at certain times when they do actually enhance the sound to make it sound better without over-doing it and causing listener fatigue. The AM/FM Stereo tuner reception is very good. It is as good as my top of the line Sony cassette AM/FM Stereo walkman unit from a few years ago. And I thought that Sony walkman was excellent. So this Aiwa tuner is just as good in reception of signals but this Aiwa sounds better IMO, more neutral (less sizzly highs)than my Sony walkman. This unit had the "scratchy, noisey" headphone jack problem that I read about on other AIWA models. But I found out how to cure (fix) that problem! Simply insert the headphone plug into the jack and turn it around 360 degrees inside the jack a few times to scrape all of the electrical contacts clean. Apparently the headphone jacks in these units have a slight coating of dirty oxidation on them. This is a minor concern and is fixed by doing what I suggested above. Try it if you have this problem and it will clean it up! The scratchy noise has not returned on my unit and the cnnection is totally reliable now. With that, I find this unit worth every penny I spent for it and rate it excellent for sound quality.
Rating: Summary: Sounds Good Review: I first bought the Panasonic version of this player. It cost twice what I paid for this unit. I rarely ever used it, and after about a years worth of use (owning it for a least two years) the anti-shock mechanism gave up. I was looking for a Sony when I bought this, but this was affordable and the Sony I was looking for was out of stock. I figured I'd read some reviews before opening the package. Everyone seems to love it. I was skeptical, but now I'm looking forward to using it. I really feel I got burned by Panasonic on my old one.
Rating: Summary: The Best of the Best Review: I got this CD Player in any normal day. I was looking forward to a PANASONIC CD player but this is what I got. And i'm happy that I got this one. I mean, what elese could you ask for? -CD-R Playback -Water Resistant -48 Second Anti shock -Rechargeable Capability -A digital AM FM Tuner -And 27 hour playback on two alkaline batteries! I recommend you to get this CD Player A.S.A.P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Review: I have always been an very loyal Aiwa buyer and this player didn't disappoint me. It is a great bang for the buck. I read some reviews any some spoke of quality problems and i would like to point out that those problems are pretty frequent in Sony, Panasonic and other brand too. The main problem is that the drive axle gets a bit loose after lots of use and the cd "tilts" while spinning. This creates friction and sometimes in severe cases can cause the cd player to stop playing. Aiwa has been a very reliable brand in my oppinion and they REALLY shines in cassette decks. They make portable cassette decks with CD quality. As a side note i would like to point out that Aiwa is in fact a division of Sony. Sony has a 50% controlling stake in the company. Anyway, in portable audio, u can't go wrong with Aiwa.
