Summary: The best CD Walkman you can get
Review: After the damage of my Sony D-E191 Discman, I come back to Sony for a replacement. After see all the new Discman models (now called CD Walkman), I decide to buy the D-EJ915. Maybe 200 bucks are too much, but this player it's a great value for the price. This CD portable player has big features (remote control with display, anti-skip technology, battery life and carrying case with hand strap). The sound it's good but I recommend you to buy a better headphones to improve the sound quality and bass response (I'm using right now a MDR-G72LP, Street Style by Sony). Still, the volume isn't enough and I can't use the double bass boost without distortion the sound. The remote control is great, letting you use all the CD Walkman functions without touch the unit. The bad notice: if you loose or damage the remote, you may not program, change bass level and the most important, you loose the display. In fact, the unit doesn't have display to reduce dimensions. Bad, isn't true?. The Backlit on the display it's great if you use a lot your CD Walkman at night. The player have a line-out/optical output for those MiniDisc or big sound systems fans. But maybe the big news about this Discman it's G-Protection. The music will not skip under every condition and let you walk, run, jog or ride on your bike like a cassette Walkman or MP3 Player. The battery life it's excellent giving me 20+ hours. The problem: the batteries need 4,5 hours to charge. If you are looking for a small player with large battery life and great anti-skip technology with acceptable sound and you're not worry to spend US$200, this is the CD player to you.

Summary: Excellent product
Review: As someone who is skeptical of beautiful electronics that often do not deliver on sustainability and reliability, I am very pleased to say that this CD player is kick .... I highly recommend it, it is slick, solid, and runs fantastic. Its a bit pricey, but the quality of the antiskip mechanism and fit-and-finish is truly wonderful.

Summary: don't drop it!
Review: I believe a good trait in a portable CD player is durability. Good points: this CD player is very nice looking and the anti-skip works well. Now on to the bad: the top is aluminum I believe , which is a problem in my opinion. I have dropped this thing twice, each time damage was done. You drop it , it dents. I dropped this player onto a thick carpet off a table and the lid latch broke off-it is plastic glued onto the lid. fragile. The rail which the read laser traverses derailed as well. What a waste of money.

Summary: Gorgeous
Review: I bought one of these recently and am so glad I did - It is small & light, with a decent quality of sound. I'm not a big fan of the headphones provided with the British version, but I have never liked the 'in-ear' type. One thing to consider - The Sony 815 has a longer battery life, a display on the CD itself, the same remote as the 915, and is cheaper. However, I still prefer the 915 because of it's smaller size and gorgeous looks. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Summary: Amazing Audio For Such A Little Thing
Review: I can blast all of my favorite songs on this amazingly crafted Sony CD player. The audio is amazing, and it makes it sound twice as well produced. The song is great, and the player is great for road trips, plane trips, or just quiet listening at home. I really like to just lay back with some drum n' bass playing, on my leather couch, and I can just lay like this for so long. This is my tool to personal happiness. It opens well, hasn't broken on me in the four months I've had it, comes with good headphones, and great options. The skip protection is high, and so is the double bass boot (DBB). The programming option is great, too. One of my favorite little pleasures.

Summary: Rating of the best cd player in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I finally got it in the mail, plugged it in the wall, and started playing with it. I wanted to share my first impressons.

Well, There are plenty of other reviews here, and instead of repeating what everyone else has said, I'll just make a few points.

The Unit itself is very small, and I was expecting it to be fragile. Now, I sure wouldn't want to drop it, but it is nicely constructed, and not as fragile as I expected.

I like the remote, it gives you the ability to fully function the player without taking it out of your pocket. It has some functions that they left off the unit to save space. This is great when you have the player in your pocket, or in a bag, but if you use it in your car, or set up on your desk with extra speakers, it can be a pain. The buttons on the remote are small, and It takes some getting use to. I've had some problems fumbling around with it, but I'm getting use to it. If a display on your cd player is a must, then don't bother with the 915. That's why they made the 815 model.

There is a switch on the bottom of the player that turns on the AVLS feature. What does it do? It doesn't allow you to turn the volume up any higher past 4. The documentation says that it keeps the volume at a safe level so that you don't damage your hearing. Likely story...I think it there to hide the fact that if you turn up the volume much higher, the sound starts to get distorted. The mega bass, also causes distortion. I just get around that by not turning the bass all the way up.

Dispite the problems with the volume, i still like it. For a portable unit i perfer to use a pair of ear buds. Because they are so close to the ear i never have to turn it up very loud. And in my bed room, i'm using an old pair of computer speakers that I hooked up to the 915, and it seems like the speakers are controling the bass instead of the player itself, so i have no problem with the bass.

I love it so far, haven't really tested the G-protection yet, but when i go inline skating, i don't expect it to be a problem. Over all, i think it's a good product. The remote might take some getting use to, and it's a shame that sony didn't include better sound output in this top of the line player, but it's worth the money, and I'll enjoy it.

Summary: I love this thing, but...
Review: I have had my discman for about a year and a half, and I have only one complaint. The rechargable battery refused to recharge after about 8 months and I have been unable to find a way to replace it. If anyone knows where I can get a new one, please let me know ... because I miss the sleek, portableness of it all. The battery pack makes it slightly awkward when in the case (I tuck it inside and it's stretching the leather case out of shape) and batteries are getting expensive.

For the player itself, amazing sound, the skip protection is almost flawless (sometimes a huge bump on the highway when it's hooked up in my car, but when I'm running it's totally fine) and the remote features are great. I highly recommend.
