Summary: A pretty great player for the money
Review: I would really give this 4.5 stars so I'll round it to a five. My cd player broke not that long ago so I was looking for a cheap replacement. I didn't want too many fancy features but I was looking for a name brand I could trust. Judging from the picture you can tell this is not the coolest looking player in the world but its okay. The buttons are a little small but these are my only complaints. Here are the features that make this a good player: it won't skip hardly at all--it's very shock resistant. It has a pause button, the headphones it comes with are pretty comfortable and the sound is amazing. There are about eight or nine main levels of sound and at each level there are three sub levels which is great because you can always find the right setting. Also this player goes louder than my old one which is great if you are in a noisy crowded place. Also on the display it shows how much juice is in your batteries. A sony quality cd player for only [a price], It doesn't get much better than that! Hope this helps.

Summary: ~~~~~~~~~
Review: This type of cd player does pretty well. it has descent sound quality, even with the $... headphones i bought. it plays, imports, cdr really welll, but it has problems with skipping on cdrws. for playing wise its somewhat descent.

it is very light weight, after you put the batteries in you don't notice any addition in weight.

i recomend if you don't like small, thin hard to get buttons on the very front, don't bother buying this. it's a pain to have to reach for them. and they arn't very far apart either.
i'd suggest that you'd spend your money on a different type. Sony, and Phillips are good qualities, and worth spending mabye $... on.

Summary: Look is cool, performance is cruel!
Review: Very disappointing purchase, would not expect this from a great brand like Sony. After 4 songs, the CD-R starts skipping. I returned the CD player after 4 days of use.

Summary: One of the best Cd players I've ever bought!
Review: I just bought this cd player yesterday and I really like it and it was worth my money. My stone age cd player broke and buying this new cd player was worth it and it was a good price considering it was a fairly new model. It is very neat and has lots of modes and plays really good. I rate this product a 4 because the only problems I see with it are that when you pause the music a beebing noise comes out of the headphones and you can't turn it off and also the cd player doesn't have a mode where you can repeat sonds over again you have to do it manually.
I strongly consider if you need a new cd player thats a good price for a good brand I suggest this cd player is the one for you!!!

Summary: light and compact yet it sucks
Review: I bought this cd player at a decent price. I was suprised that it was very light, but it doesn't seem to play some cd-rw's. And this cd player gets alot of fingerprints on the cover which makes it look dirty and its slippery too. I would buy something better for a couple bucks more.

Summary: Perfect Player
Review: Sony has, yet again, topped my list of favorite electronic gadgets. I have had this CD player for a while now, and not once has it skipped on any song off of any CD, and I listen to a lot of music. It's the best portable player I have ever owned. It's also very durable. On several occasions I have forgotten I was using it, started to walk away from the table or whatever it was sitting on, and it has fallen. It must have been designed for idiots, such as myself, for it has never broken. The headphones included with this CD player are very comfortable, and, out of seven or so pairs of headphones owned by myself, the only ones I use. I give this product a five star rating, and I suggest you try it out. It might cost more than what you like, but you are definitely getting your money's worth. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: Good Cost Value, With Little or No Sacrifice in Quality
Review: Compared to my 1995 "Discman" by Sony, it is extremely lightweight! That was a surprise. The behind the ear headphones that come in the package are kinda funky but fine (I'll probably use "earbuds" so they'll fit in the CaseLogic padded CD case I bought to go with this). I'm not crazy about the little "psych" theme going on here with the three strange buttons on the top and the foam-rubber tag that's included in the package (and for which I see no use--it'd be a strange decoration). But overall, 4 stars. CDs sound very nice when played on this unit. I like how the batteries fit compactly under where the CD plays. It does not play MP3's but I don't absolutely need that feature, so it was a good buy for my money. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: this is lame
Review: this thing lasted two months and then broke down. It would always not play or skip constantly. I even tried a lense cleaner but it was so messed up it wounldn't even play. Take my advice and don't buy this product, it sucks! --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: Not worth it.
Review: Recieved this as a gift in late '03. I dropped the player once from a short distance while working out and it never played again. The sound quality was iffy at best while it worked and it was quite heavy. I have an earlier Sony model that has lasted two years while being dropped numerous times. Don't bother; keep looking. --This text refers to an alternate option.

Summary: buy it
Review: Its a good cd player, cool color, hasnt skipped for me yet when ive walked with it, you can set it down on the table and it wont skipp when it makes impact with the table. The headphones play outta both speakers, ive had alot of cd players that the head phones only played outta one speaker. the buttons are a little small and the play button on mine is whobbles easier than the others which can get annoying, but im kinda picky so maybe its just me, i wish the buttons were on the top so u can see what ur pressing, but other than that its a good cd player and u should buy it --This text refers to an alternate option.
