Summary: The next generation of portable CD players
Review:
When planning a long trip, I was thinking of packing my computer speakers so I could plug them into a portable CD player. Then I saw this player, what a perfect idea! You could play this in the car or hotel room without having to wear headphones. And the price is still budget-friendly.

The quality of the speakers reminds me of my clock radio...not exactly beautiful stereo sound. But they are definitely good enough for on-the-go playing. The headphones included with this unit do NOT do it justice. At first I thought it just played poorly, but with another pair, the sound is perfect. I strongly recommend you throw out the included headphones and use another pair - any pair!

Overall, this player is a great buy, and I love the speakers. I'll never go back to a regular player again. And I look forward to future players like this one with even better speaker sound.

Summary: Tinny Speakers
Review: Don't buy this CD player thinking you'll like listening to your music on it's built-in speakers. You won't! They are incredibly tinny. However, the headphones that come with it have a nice sound, altho they are somewhat awkward to wear since they want to slip forward if you try to wear them with the headset at the top of your head. You'll need to slide the headset toward the back of your head to fix this problem, but they fit comfortably positioned like that. Except for the built-in speakers, this is a very nice portable CD player. It's lightweight and easy to use.

Summary: Very cool....BUT....
Review: First off, the nice/great things about this player: 1)...You'll buy this for the speakers, and rightly so..they're great. It has the standard sound dial from 0 to 10..and I play it around 5-6 in my place, 8-9 outside (and it works great even in a downtown enviro, too..you CAN easliy hear it.) They're only a bit 'tinny'..the cabinet speakers have no bass boost, but that's because they're so small. Really, you don't need it. (NOTE...when using headphones you CAN have a bass boost and a 'Train' setting..a more muted version of bass boost. Just not when using the built-ins.) 2)... The player size/design...very cool. I prefer the LCD display on top like this, for easier read of the track & sound features. Button layout is nice and easily memorizable. 3)...Has an energy saver feature where you can make the batteries last longer...very noticable! 4)...40 Sec reader/skip protection...this player WILL NOT SKIP. ------------BAD THINGS...------------------ 1). Even if you press the 'hold' switch, the player can still open. That's no good to me. Same with the speaker/headphone switch. Using this player with headphones in a public area, be acareful not to bump into that button and switch the speakers on..that's embarrassing. 2.) No 'Groove' sound equalizer like on most Sony machines. 'Groove' is by far the coolest sound system, next to the older Sony player, the turtle-esque D-844K.(It had SURROUND SOUND..on a Discman! ) 3.) Display DOES NOT LIGHT UP, even with ac pack used. That sucks frog butt. 4.) The worst thing about the player...in a quiet place, using either any headphones (I prefer Sony's 'street style' silver wraparounds), or the built in speakers, you can hear a VERY annoying whine, like from a TV set. (You can hear it when the player's set to a lower volume setting easier than a louder one.) Using this player to fall assleep with may be nervewracking because of this. You can clearly hear it with the built-ins. Outside, or in a more 'active' area other than a quiet room this 'whine' is next to non-existent, however.

Summary: I bought it for the speakers
Review: I also bought this cd player for its speakers and based on the reviews that I read. First let me say that when one buys this product they must think what is the purpose for the speakers. I bought it thinking that it would be cool to have a little travel cd player that I could use and have one other listen to. I think it is great for having a cd player in a hotel room, or in other places that you usually would take a disc man but not take a portable cd player. Lets face it, everyone has a cd player at home and a disc man is for travel. The sound is perfect for one or two, or a small group. Obviously know one is going to have a party with the player, but if your purpose is to have a very small cd player that you can use for travel than this is perfect, becuase it can be used alone, or it can be used in a small group. I think the sound volume is just what I expected based on the product and its size.

Summary: Don't buy for the external speakers
Review: I bought this for a friend. Based on the reviews on this site I expected that the sound would be OK. Sadly, it is about as good as an old transistor radio.

Not surprising, given the size of the speakers, but I can't imagine why no one else commented on it. I'm returning it and getting a $65 portable and a set of external speakers.

Summary: Skip City
Review: I bought this player because of the built-in speakers (which is a very nice feature). The sound quality is much better than I expected; no complaints there. But this thing skips constantly, even when it's sitting still on a tabletop! It is so completely annoying that I'm now looking for a new player.

Summary: FUN CD PLAYER
Review: I bought this player over a year ago to help with overnight stays when I travel because I love to listen to all kinds of music. I was hoping that the built-in speakers would free me from being chained to the player when listening in my motel or hotel room. The speakers performed beyond my expectations and I am buying a second player this year for a Christmas present. NOTE: The player is sensitive enough to jostling that I would not recommend it to anyone who is going to use it while running (and can't give it 5 stars) but it has performed well in every other way.

Summary: Magnifiqe!
Review: I bought this portable CD player by Panasonic recently in order to replace my old §ONY. It is quite a best buy. I give it 2 thumbs up! All pros; hardly any cons! The other buyers that complain or give it less than 4 stars, obviously didn't read the technical data or read any reviews whatsoever. All in all, it is a great product and you get every single penny's worth.

~~THANK YOU AMAZON~~

Summary: Excellent Purchase!!
Review: I bought this with one purpose in mind: Travel. I wanted music for more than one without having to haul a cd player 1/2 way across the world. It was perfect!! The sound is good. The anti-shock feature is great. And the auto shout off feature is a great battery saver. The headphones a good as well. It is small. It's barely bigger than a cd. It's great for hotel rooms. And the price is right.
