Summary: Sony is nice, but don't buy this one
Review: After having a Sony Walkman for 6 years, I finally decided it was time for another. The Sony Walkman I had before has been through everything - it's been dropped, flipped over, shaken, travelled all over the country, and despite being completely abused and missing most of its external parts, it still plays beautifully. (It just looks ugly and the batteries fall out.) So, I decided to retire the 1998 Walkman and received this Psych for Christmas. Despite being a cool colour and having nice sound, after about 2 months the hold button broke. I should have returned it then since it was still under warranty, but I held onto it because I was out of the country. Soon after I got back (and after my 3-month warranty was up) the CD player stopped working completely. I think I might have accidently gently dropped and it fell a very short distance - a drop that should not have done any damage to any halfway decent electronic - but it immediately stopped working and has never played again. The display scrolls through the songs but the CD simply does not spin anymore. One time I got it to spin but it played only about 30 seconds of the first track of the cd before it quit. I've tried everything - changing the batteries, trying different discs, but nothing works. I had someone who is good w/ electronics check it out but they couldn't find anything wrong and suggested I try a lens cleaner. I almost bought one of those $10 lens cleaners but after reading the reviews on here it looks like I shouldn't even try. I don't know why Sony made this poor product. I vowed never to buy another Sony CD player, despite my positive experience with my 1998 Walkman, until today when I found another model at a reasonable price. Maybe I'll try that one. Just don't make the mistake of buying this model.

Summary: Excellent, cheap, no frills cd player
Review: This is an excellent cd player, especially for the price. If you're looking for lots of fancy options, this one won't do but all the basics are here. It has a wide range of options on the volume control. It's relatively skip free (not good enough for exercizing with but fine other than that). The included headphones are decent quality, as long as you like the type that go behind your neck. Extremely long battery life is another plus. Mine has stood up to being dropped on a hardfloor and played with by a baby as well, so it's not flimsy. The only problem I have had was with disks that are dirty it will skip, but a quick cleaning of the disk fixes that problem.

Summary: BADASS CD PLAYER
Review: Have bought this a year and a half ago and cannot complain. It's a ragular discman with no extra features or functions. What it should do, it does well. Highly reliable and user friendly. Warmly recomended.

Summary: Not bad
Review: Pretty good all around CD player. My only complain is that the BEEP BEEP BEEP noise when paused can get annoying.

Summary: A Good Player
Review: Well it's definitely a good cd player for the price. The headphones are good, too, although after a while they tend to hurt my ears a little. I've had mine for almost a year now, and I've noticed it tends to skip a lot after about an hour or so of constant play on the same cd. It can't seem to read well the closer it gets to the edge. I've never dropped it yes, so I don't know how durable it is, but it doesn't look very sturdy. The quality of playback is good until it hits it's breaking point in playtime. Battery-wise it's very good. Mine came with two sony rechargeable batteries which usually suck. It lasts a good long time on these. Definitly not 40 hours, but hey, crappy sony rechargeable batteries that last atleast 25h is still good.

Summary: DON'T BUY
Review: Okay, I got this CD player for Christmas (2003) and it seemed okay at first, but the the buttons were really confusing. Then about two months later it would no longer olay my CD's. So I still had the waranty and i retutrned it for a new one. So, about three months and it did the same thing. it has an ugly tab thing and scratches easily. Plus it gets fingerprits all over it.
