Summary: Safe from water, 3 feet falls, but not sand
Review: A good tip is not to bring this to the beach or any place with sand. The sand did not completely break the cd player, but makes a static sound. It is good if you take care of it, not like I did, and it has a lot of extra buttons, PGM for example puts the songs in the order you want, it is quite helpful at times. The double bass is not too significant. The hand holder is very useful, and their design helps to make it easy to move around. Very good cd player

Summary: Great Walkman
Review: Here's what I think about this Walkman:

Pros:
-Does not skip at all
-Very rugged, very secure buckle
-It DOES pause
-Great for jogging or treadmill,or any other kind of sport
-Long-lasting battery life

Cons:
-Badly placed volume knob
-No belt loop
-Really uncomfortable headphones: buy over-the-head ones

Otherwise, excellent Walkman, with great sound. I advise you buy.

Summary: Another positive review
Review: I agree with the positive reviews below. I'd just like to mention a few things.

Performance. I use the unit while jogging. I've noticed a couple of skips in the music when I get to running fast downhill. Perhaps the extra movement and/or impact is more than the skip-control can handle. No big deal. I recommend setting the skip control to G-2(?), which supposedly reduces sound quality. If it does I haven't detected it. Finally, I selected my settings then hit the Hold button to lock the settings into place and prevent an accidental change.

Headphones. I don't mess with the volume control on the unit. In fact, I can't while I'm out jogging. (See below.) I use a good set of headphones with volume control on the chords so it's easy to reach. Besides, I don't like the little "bud" phones that come with the unit.

Carrying the unit. I jog with two dogs so hand-holding the unit is not an option. I used to carry my cassette Walkman in my pocket but that resulted in too many drops with ensuing shortened useful lives. After I killed the last Walkman I figured there had to be a better way. My solution was to purchase a CD Walkman Carrying Case with a belt for the waist. Now the unit is secure, and if I do drop it (which has not happened), there's an extra layer of padding. The problem with the case is that access to all the controls except the start/stop button is lost. Hence the need to have the volume control on the headphones.

Summary: By far the best CD player ever purchased
Review: I am notoriously clumsy and am known to break electronics extremely quickly. Before purchasing this CD player I had gone through five CD players within the space of a year (of various brands...i think i had two panasonics, one classic, one other kind of sony, and one aiwa). I decided to splurge a little for this discman and was not disappointed. I have had this for almost two years now, drop it almost daily (often from considerable height onto tile floors or concrete), often store it at the bottom of my heavily loaded backpack and it is still in perfect working order. I think that the sound functions are starting to go, as i now have to purchase new headphones every two weeks, but I think I will buy the exact same discman again to replace it, because it is by far the best CD player I have ever had.

Summary: Very good CD player but not perfect...
Review: I bought this player around Xmas time and I have been using it about 4 times a week when I go jogging for about a hour or so. For the most part, its preformed to my expectations.

I did notice one slight problem, the battery meter is inaccurate. Sometimes its says you have a full charged battery when in fact your batteries are dying out. I've only noticed this recently when my player started to stop all of a sudden even though it previously showed that the batteries still had a decent amount of charge. That's the only reason why I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5.

Summary: The Best!!!
Review: I bought this walkman about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it! It has never once skipped on me, the batteries last forever, and its so convenient to be able to hang it off of the treadmill instead of having to hold onto it the whole time you're exercising. I was a little unsure of buying it at first (b/c it is so expensive) but it's definitely worth it! I would definitely recommend this product!

Summary: Second CD Player
Review: I bought this walkman and I was totally amazed at its clarity and its ruggidity compacted into one sweet looking CD Walkman.

Takes getting used to running with it..but its aight..no skipping for me so far.

This is the second time I bought a CD Player and I also have a Sanyo MP3 Player from Japan...but so far now..this SONY Sports Walkman rocks my world..
