Description:
SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 handles the reception, distribution, and transmission of e-mail. In compliance with the IMAP standard, SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 administers and stores all e-mail on a central server, providing Internet or intranet access to e-mail, no matter where users may be or which device or e-mail client they use. SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 supports all common e-mail clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, and Eudora. Or, simply access e-mail folders with a Web browser. New features have been added to version 3.1 to allow for better control of configuration and administration tasks. SuSE Linux eMail Server 3.1 allows users to manage appointments both in Microsoft Outlook and the integrated Web client in SuSE Linux eMail Server. If deploying SuSE Linux eMail Server via a Web browser, users are automatically informed of new messages in pop-up windows that can be enabled or disabled individually. Address data has been included to the increased amount of user data an administrator can process. Through Access Control Information, administrators can globally or individually determine which data users are permitted to modify. Also, with the help of the Web-based front end, administrators can monitor which clients are currently connected to the system and which workstations they use, useful for checking the per-session system load.
