Summary: What they don't tell you...
Review: Some of these "Tips" you may already know but if you don't they can save you a lot of time and aggravation. 1) Each new quartile, the set of CD(s) or DVD(s) do not necessary retain all of the old content from the previous version. Save your old media if you don't think there this is any possible chance you will need them in the future. Also the content is constantly being reorganized and an older version might present the information in a manner that is easier for you to use and more importantly FIND. 2) The new installation will NOT automatically save your favorites. To do this you must go the Windows Desktop Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Developer Network -> MSDN Library Favorites Utility . Use that utility to import your favorites into the new version. 3) If at all possible, (free disk space) choose the "Full" installation option or your search for information will result in constant prompts to insert your media again and again. Not productive at all. 4) and finally, the information is super accurate but at times very terse and formal. You are much better off searching the various Web sites for examples of the technologies, especially programming.
