Summary: Disappointed
Review: I used this product for several years until Intuit decided to install the CDILLA spyware, which runs constantly on your computer, consuming resources and doing who knows what.

I got a new hardrive and the software no longer ran, until I got on the phone with tech support.

Now I uninstalled Turbo Tax and CDILLA won't go away.

Summary: Waste's lot's of paper!
Review: They seem to go to some length to make the program NOT-User friendly, or environmentally friendly. i.e., Even though I E-filed, it was necessary to print numerous pages that were duplicate's of the screen instructions. A back up copy of the actual tax documents are all that should be printed (give us some options, here).
Then the rebate process is a test of one's patients (of course they want you to become aggravated and throw it in the trash). You do the forms, E-mail them to Intuit, print them out a copy to mail back and then you have to hand write those silly little cut-out forms with the exact same information...Phueeee!

Summary: The demise of TurboTax
Review: Okay, I think this is one nail in the coffin of TurboTax's death. Not only are there many other competitors offering a web version for a lot less, but they also include e-filing for free.
I installed it on my computer at home and then on my laptop, hoping to do my taxes on the road. Needless to say, I gave up, threw the thing away and swore never to buy this product again! And incidentally, you spys at TurboTax, I don't condone piracy. If anyone is the pirate, its them. Installing spyware on your machine and disguising it as a licensing mechanism. Macrovision are also the same crooks who (besides making this spyware), have their chips on DVD players that help region blocking.

Summary: Don't Bother with This Program Next Year
Review: Intuit made major changes to TurboTax this year without telling anyone. These include: one licensed install (additional installs cost extra), constant reporting of info on the computer over the internet to lord-knows-who, & a tech support staff that sets a new standard for stupid!

In previous years, I installed TT on the home computer to prepare the tax info & on the office computer to print it. No more. Each install requires a ... license fee. You know what I ended up doing? Installing the program on the home PC then CARRYING the PC to the office to print the return. THANKS, INTUIT!

Installation. It took 4 days & one Windows reload. Tech Support, which has been "upgraded" from a telo call center to a Chat Box couldn't seem to understand the phrase "software won't install".

I didn't understand the problem until I found out that the "support reps" are in India and their normal working hours are midnite to 8am. In addition to not getting much sleep, they didn't get much training, either.

Do you know how I installed the package? I CARRIED THE HOME PC TO THE OFFICE, plugged it into a network connection with internet access & ran the install. A lot of internet traffic during the install. This means SPYWARE!

I am looking for another tax package to use next year. Any suggestions? This one is [not good]!

I gave the package a one star rating because a lower rating was not offered.

Summary: Spyware problem
Review: Mine was a slightly complex return and but turbotax handled it properly. The only problem is the spyware. My computer had a fujitsu hard drive, and as everybody knows there is callback on Fujitsu hard drives. But before, I could send it for replacement, it crashed. Thankfully, I had backed up all my data. But when I again tried to reload the Turbotax software, I had to buy software again. And the mail-in rebate is also paid only once so intuit milks you from all sides. Great way of making money, but I won't buy the software again next year.

Summary: Disaster
Review: I had to reinstall everything in my computer after I tried to unistall the program, if I could I would sue the company.

Summary: No problems encountered so far!
Review: Despite all the negative experiences I have read about here, I have had ZERO problems. Unless something goes wrong in the submission process, I'll continue to give it 5 stars. Easy to understand interview and quick e-filing process for an itemizing 1040 filer. Ditto for state filing. All that remains is to get a confirmation from IRS and my state, and I'll be elated.

Smooth Windows XP installation and operation on my PIII 933 Dell system.

The only thing close to a problem in the activation process was that TurboTax seemed to not recognize my cable modem connection, but once I ignored the "can't find internet connection" notice and proceeded, it went through without incident. As for the C-Dilla (spyware?), I will use Intuit's removal file to uninstall it once my returns are confirmed and my refunds are deposited. I'll uninstall TurboTax, save my 2002 forms on backup CDs, and save the TurboTax CD in case I need it.

I forsee a likely possibility that I will use TurboTax again next year.

Summary: Turbo Junk...
Review: After using Turbo Tax since the Commodore64 days I found the product & support to be totally unreliable. After buying 2 CD's & trying their customer support I ended up downloading the 4868 form from the IRS so I could file an extension, since their was no way I could get this junk to load & not give me a runtime error before the post office cloed. As a small business owner I know that time is money & this has & will cost me plenty. Anyone interested in a class action suit?

After reading the reviews here, I realize I wasn't the only one having problems & will probably have to hire an outside computer service to clean up the mess this thing left on the computer. No more for me, in fact I'm thinking about deleting ALL the annoying Quicken stuff too & start over with something that will actually work without all the hassles.

HEY Intuit... Activate THIS!
