The front includes the Blizzard trademark in blue, and the back features Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, surrounded by his ghostly minions. During the Great Exile of the three Evils, the Horadrim succeeded in capturing Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, within a single red gem known as a soulstone. The gem was hidden deep within a remote swamp region near the village of Kurast. Over time, Mephisto was able to exert his influence over the nearby villagers, much like Diablo was able to corrupt and destroy the town of Tristram. As the player journeys deep into the jungles of Kurast in pursuit of Diablo, he or she will find another, greater evil at work.
