Review: Tried this title out when I purchased 'Encore's Family Chess Pack.' Even at the bargin bin price this dog was a waste of money! The engine is VERY generic with only 3 playing levels; no sound; and only 1 "choice" of board/pieces which are tiny!!! The tutorials are jumbled, making them difficult to navigate through, and consist mainly of listening to someone "reading" text that appears on the screen! Lessons are displayed on a board with "immovable" pieces, meaning that you not only have to understand the notation "read" to you, but have the ablility to follow along in your head! (A beginner is supposed to do this?) My 1st clue this was an inferior program, occured while browsing the README file that popped up shortly after installation. It seems in order to make heads or tails of the 12,000 historic matches stored on the CD, I needed to find 26 text files still on the disk; load these indexes into my favorite word processing software; and search for the player and game I wished to view! Need I say more?!? Dr. Schiller built this software program the same way he writes his books...tons of easily accessible information, haphazardly slopped together, leaving you and I the task to sift through this junk and try come up with some sort of "instruction" on our own!!! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER SOURCES OUT THERE, TRUST ME!!!
