Description:
If you've ever wanted to own a professional baseball team, step into the owner's suite with Baseball Mogul 2002. This is the fourth installment in the award-winning Baseball Mogul series, in which you assume the role of the general manager for your favorite professional ball club. As GM, your job is to build the best lineup of players to take your team to the championship series. You also have to manage all the finances for your ball club. Raise revenue for your team by setting the price of tickets and selling the TV broadcast rights. Manage your team's expenses by setting the budget for your farm system, player scouts, medical staff, and player payroll. An advanced baseball simulator takes your team through each day of the baseball season, as you follow your team's wins and losses on the way to the playoffs. Start the season with the actual roster of players from your favorite big-league baseball team. As the season progresses your job is to make complex player trades and sign players to multiyear contracts to help build your team. Have your new players join your big-league team right away, or send them to your minor-league franchise for training and improvement. Then, as time goes by, you choose which players stay in the majors, which ones get sent down to the minors, and which ones get traded or released. Manage your team over many simulated years or decades. As your players age, their abilities will peak and decline, while fresh new rookies will join your club. Don't forget to build your team for the long term. Watch your team rise and fall in the standings, watch your bank statement, and read the news stories to stay on top of what's happening with all the teams in both leagues. If you pick the right players, manage your finances well, and stick to a winning strategy, your team may win the championship, and you too may become a baseball mogul!
