Summary: Great Aircraft Simulator
Review: (No pictures of cover of box or in-game pictures so I don't know if this is the game I'm thinking of but I believe it is) I really enjoyed this game when I got it. Here is a list of Pros and Cons about this game:

Pros:
1. Detailed jet controls (you control everything from gears, to flaps, to tailhook when landing with LSO on carrier, to arming you weapons)
2. Allies help cover you in-flight.
3. Many different views of aircraft.
4. Detailed game manuel explains everything you need to know about the weapons layout to the take-off and landing speeds.
5. You can contact flight control (control tower) and ground control to know when it is safe to take-off/land.
6. You can order your wingmates to do anything from helping you down a bogey, bomb a target, to landing and refueling/repairing.
7. Enemy AIs' skill level (both SAMs and aircraft) can be changed.
8. Land on carrier with help from LSO.

Cons:
1. Not the best graphics, could have more pixels.
2. Not many missions.
3. Only aircraft you can be is Super Hornet while your allies can be in F-16s, A-10s, and F-117 Stealth Fighters.

Overall this is a great game. I recommend it to anybody who likes military aircraft to purchase this game. The only addition to this game I would highly recommend is getting a Sidewinder joystick.

Summary: Let Down once again!
Review: My favorite Jet is an F/A-18 E Super Hornet! But i was hoping that Digital Integration would have done more than creat a game with only good ideas.
Graphics are poor period!
I have read the readme file and tried to slow down features on a already poor graphics situation and it still locks up sooner or later!
I'm running a G-Force II with an Intel Pentium III and a Full Sound Blaster Live. I have no problems with any of my other games.
If only they would have made this NAVY Flight sim as good as Falcon 4.0.
As far as the Hornet world is concerned,"Janes" still is number one!
This game is a bummer and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone since the company couldn't write the program to make it worth much!

Summary: F/A-18 E Super Hornet -vs-Janes F/A18E
Review: Over all I am very pleased with the "GOLD EDITION" of this Hornet game. The speed of the aircraft and the controls in the cockpit really make me feel like I am working with a F/A-18!
Now don't get me wrong regarding Janes Hornet. Both games have quite a bit to offer.
I have reviewed other sim pilots opinion's and I respect them highly. One thing I do like about the Digital Integration's work is the carrier operations and the pilot is able to apply night vision goggles. This game in my opinion is just simply bad to the bone!
I have tried to be fully satisfied with Janes version and I am pleased with all the additions that people made for Janes but the over all action and flight characteristics of Digital Integration's Hornet pleases me big time! The only other flight sim I know of that has night vision realistic view at night is Falcon 4.0 which over all is probably the best sim ever made in my opinion.
But my personal desire has always been carrier opps and Super Hornet's are my favorite. Xicat makes a F/A-18 C Hornet that is fun and done well as well. Not to drift to far off the subject at hand{Super Hornet}....and since Hasbro with Microprose never made a Hornet 4.0 :[........
I feel like I am going to have a lot of fun with F/A-18 Super Hornet from Digital Integration! I heard people say things about Super Hornet like their Carrier wasn't moving? And that the radio comands didn't sound very good. What I have heard so far I really like.
My carrier moves! The water looks very good like water too! Im running a G-Force II with a creative labs sound blaster live.{full version} and a Intel Pentium III 450.
Speaking of radio talk in Janes I have always never been to keen on that cowboy sounding dude that says "Mercury,"sweet and sweet continue outbound"..he sounds like that guy on petty coat junction that sits on the poorch. And the Janes Russian lady that sounds like my german grandma clearing me for cookie's and milk instead of landing. Then not to give Janes a bunch of flack but that one girls voice that says "Mercury"what are you doing?"
Or "Mercury, remain in the Marshall stack",with a tone that sounds like I am playing with her in her bedroom and I better not make her mad.
But Janes is still a good game. My point is all of these games can have good or bad things in them.
Personaly,.....I give this new Gold Edition two thumbs up and I will give it a 5 for the stars just for the cool Carrier Crew!
I like that much better than the Janes USS Ghoast Town! And mainly the way the aircraft handles in this Gold Hornet game is much more realisticly fast!
Thanks for listening to my opinions and I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Summary: Not Bad, But Not Quite Complete
Review: Super Hornet is a lot of fun for practicing carrier shoots and traps, I guess it feels like 95% of sims feel...not done. If only the money for development wouldn't run out so quickly...if only more time could be spent on filling in the gaps, like the campaign. Also would be nice to have the carrier move, the weather rougher(still haven't seen a single wind gust). Bottom line, I use it for the carrier ops... Troy"Bigfoot"Fisher ...

Review: The only "Gold" in this sim is in the title. I had to look at the CD twice to make certain I hadn't loaded the first version in error. Shame on them for charging this much money for nothing more than a campaign upgrade, to an already poor sim. I do not recommend this sim to anyone. Save your money.
