Summary: Very Good
Review: This game is a huge improvement over Diablo I, but is not without flaws. The familiar life/magic orbs remain, as do the puzzle-like inventory and belt systems. The gameplay is far better than its predecessor- items are now easier to locate, walking/running can be permanently toggled, and everything is easier to see. The lighting is improved as well, thanks to some hardware enhancements- this removes those annoying segmented areas of light as seen in Diablo I. For those with hardware acceleration, there is a perspective option that skews the bitmaps for an interesting effect. (This does result in some image degradation and a pixelated look.) The CG animations at the end of each Act are very well done, and give a reason for playing if you have none. You no longer have to load between areas as in Diablo I, and the new waypoint system makes exploring far easier and less infuriating. Five character classes rather than three also make the game more fun. It takes a while to play through all of them.

Some things Blizzard left unchanged. The resolution is a pitiful 640 by 480. I found nothing wrong with the color depth- nothing seemed bland or bad looking. The game does really weird things when it comes to caching textures. If you haven't done somthing in a while- like kicking a barrel- the game freezes for a second or two while it loads the animation. For a game that's not very high resolution, I found this texture hang-up pretty strange.

Overall, this is a good game. If you liked Diablo, buy it. It has some problems, but it still managed to keep me in one spot for very long time periods.

Summary: shift key broken
Review: all what i have been doing in this game so far is pressing the shift key. i am almost done with act three and my left shift key is not working any more. the only thing motivating me to continue is the cinematics between each act. they r AMAZING... and the music is nice also. that's why i am giving two starts and not one.

Summary: Definately not bad, but not very good, too.
Review: The guys from Blizzard seem to favour two things : 1: The crow. 2: the resolution 640x480. Both of them appear as frequently as possible. The first one, though, I don't mind. The second - I DO. Well, I don't think 640x480 is the screen resolution of year 2000, the year of the 32, 64 and even 128-megabyte video cards. Gamers with the dream hardware (700Mhz. Athlon/PentiumIII, 128MbRAM, Voodo 5/GeForce2) have a lot of extra power unlike the gamers in 1996 when 800x600 was rare. The resolution, offered by Blizzard is just not appropriate for nowadays. As for the gameplay - it's quite good, but Killing the same monsters several times is not much fun. Multyplayer is cool, too, especially in cooperative. The storyline, coloured in the typical for Blizzard pessimictic tones, is nice. The cut-scenes revealing us the story are well done too, but in 640x480 they look a bit bixelated on a 17" and larger monitor. Overall, this is a mediocre game. It has strong and weak points struggling to win just like Diablo's servants and our hero. And none of them seems to be succeeding.

Summary: Personal Opinion. So do I care if you disagree? NO
Review: First off, I would like to say, I started playing Diablo a little bit after the release and I loved it. I would sit there and play non-stop. Now, Diablo II has been released. What do you think I'm doing non-stop now? Playing of course because the game is great. I think graphics don't make up the game. Instead, I go by the plot of the rpg. D2 has a great plot. Sometimes it can be comfusing (expecially in Act 2), but if you just follow your quest and not skip, you'll do good. Thats what I sort of done, but I could be better if I followed them. I'm only a lvl 34 on Hell difficulty, So I think I did pretty good. Back to the game now. As everyone whos a game player knows, there is always lag. D2 has horrible lag, but Blizzard is working on that, just yesterday they worked on the bandwidth. Soon it will be better. Also, Blizzard is releasing tons of patches to make lower lag and fix errors. Over all, I do say it is better than D1. I also recommend this to all the original Diablo lovers because it will blow you away. And like I said, I don't care if you hate this game, because you can't say something based on one thing alone. Like most of you do. All I see is "lag! lag! lag!" I agree, but lag will get better.

Summary: Still the champ!
Review: The gameplay is essentially the same as Diablo I. And initially I was very disapointed with the graphics (only 640x480). But the game is so good, you soon forget the graphics. Also the Soundtrack is good and the gameplay is excellent. Even the video scenes are top notch. Overall, it was worth every penny.

Summary: I'M NOW AN RPG FAN!
Review: Diablo 2 is a great game. It never gets boring and is a great challenge. You can go on battle.net and play the story game with a friend or you can find expert players online that can sell superior armor and magical stuff to help you beat a quest that is too difficult for you alone. I could go on for hours writing all the great stuff that this game has to offer but I haven't found every thing yet and I've been playing for around 2 weeks! The short 3 minute movies included in the game are also very good. This game will never get old... well... untill a Diablo 3 comes out!

Summary: Almost perfect.
Review: Diablo II is a great game. Just like Diablo I, but that's the only problem. There's not enough difference from Diablo I. There are the additional character classes, but the gameplay is exactly the same. You fight or use spells. Also, as I have heard from others, it's repetitive. Most of the acts are almost the same, except for different scenery and a few different monsters. But despite all this I'm sure Diablo II is going to provide me with hours of entertainment. Just as did Diablo I. The only problem with that game was on battle.net there was no game you could join without having some 50th level invincible, player killer. Who doesn't let you get into the dungeon before he's killed you five thousand times. Luckily, Diablo II has the Battle.net characters stored on Blizzard computers. This prevents hacking. Also to toggle hostility on or off both characters have to be at least 9th level, and be in town. This insures a enjoyable playing time.

Summary: hells yeah!
Review: okay, remember all the fun of the original diablo? Of course you do! it rocked! well, no surprise, so does the sequel! D2 is huge, impressive and nicely detailed. there are tons of monsters and bad guys. There's also no shortage of weapons, upgrades and GOLD! And, like other RPG-esque games, when your experience goes up and you level up, you can put your skill points where you want em! yeah! Multiplayer is sweet too. be it through battle.net or a TCP connection, its all good. Suggestions for playing though. When D2 suggests a monitor resolution, go with it. Second, download the update from battle.net or get it off the latest mac addict CD(unsolicited plug) the update speeds up stuff and makes m-player easier. However, there's a lot going on in D2. make sure you are at LEAST 266 mhz G3 in order to play. Also, she wants decent ram. give it plenty(at least 64) to get it going. Similarly, D2 supports almost all video acceleration. So, for god sakes BUY A GOOD CARD! . it'll make d2 look better and play faster. So, no matter what you do, play D2. its a cant miss. We all owe blizzard for porting to mac for us.show them you care! buy this game! And, for those of you who may not trust my recomendation, I unoficially tell you I work for one of the larger game retailers in america. I wouldnt tell ya to buy it if I didnt mean it. now go and kill the undead!.....uh...again!...

Summary: Wonderful
Review: ...Everything you've heard is true--this is a truly addictive and in-depth experience. Every hole and flaw in Diablo has been patched over for D2. The graphics and animation are the best I have seen in an RPG (save Ultima 9 maybe), the story is deep, the classes are well-balanced, the sound and music are great, the items are varied and interesting...

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not bad, but not good....
Review: Diablo 2 is undoubtfuly a great game, no question about that. But something struck after getting to the second act, it didnt seem to change. All I was doing was just killing endless numbers of enemies. Now dont get me wrong, I like that and all but I was looking for a little more role-playing. In the end I think diablo 2 should get more of a 3.5 stars only becuase it is all the same throughout the enire game. (And yes i did beat it)
