Summary: Like to shop
Review: If you like to shop then this game is for you. The basic idea is you kill something, then shop for items to make it easier to kill the next thing. Happy shopping!

Summary: One of the Best RPGs of all time
Review: What really hits you when you start playing Diablo 2 is that it is unlike any other RPG on the market. When you look at it, compared to say... Baldur's Gate 2, Balder's Gate, Fallout, Fallout 2, Icewind Dale, or even the original Diablo. Is that this game plays at a much faster pace. To be truthful, Diablo 2 takes a different approch. Many of the other RPGs put heavy emphasis on their story, but then ignore the battle engine. What good is that? Expecially when you realize that every best-selling RPG has at least 50% of game play owed to combat? What Blizzard Entertainment did with Diablo 2 is amazing. Unlike The other RPGs, Diablo 2 recagnizes the importants of both story and and combat, blending the two elements to create a game which plays more like a FPS, than a RPG.

Summary: Great
Review: I dont know what to say. This is my favorite game ever. With all the 5 classes u can play this game for a year and not get bored. The game is even better if you have friends that play it too. Its funny I have had this game for awhile now and I havent even been to singleplayer lol. I always play multi with my friends. If you are gonne get this game get the battle chest. For 50 bucks you get diablo, diablo 2, the needed expansion pack, and strategy guide. The battle chest is truly a bargain.

I recommend this game to 15+

Summary: Can't Install the Game
Review: I would give this game a much higher score if only I could install the game. I have been doing that for weeks trying every suggestions from Blizzard's online support relating to my problem but nothing works.

Summary: Is this love?
Review: I`m a huge fan of casual Zeldaish real-time RPGs,so you know Diablo 2 won my heart very quickly. I play it at least once a day.

The only thing I have against it is the high memory requirements (but that`s only my 5GB PC talking)

The Expansion is well worth the extra money too. Break out your extra memory and Cable Modem and live the legend.

Summary: In search for something more
Review: Well! I have been playing diablo for about one year now. It did not take me long to figure out the strategy and all the character classes. I have played all characters in three realms which makes the total number of characters that I have played, (24).

The game is great and very fun and very addictive. However, you start to learn every corner, every corridor, every turn and it starts to become boring. Plus, you start to wonder, is this all there is to the game. I have been playing every day of the week for 8 hours or more each day with the hope of finding elite items and rare items that the game can spawn. I have become very discouraged with the output of the treasures that are promised.

There is a lot of down time and lagging while playing the game.

I have really given up hope of building my characters past the level of 85, 99 being the highest level there is.

Its a great game but battle net has to find away to make the game more interesting. It has become mundain.

Summary: Flawed sequel to a masterpiece
Review: This game is a potentially very well-done sequel to Diablo, one of the most addictive hack & slash fantasy games of all times. Well-done because of the spiffy graphics, the balanced game play, the gorgeous sounds, the smooth interface, and - last but not least - the variety of monsters and magic items.

What spoils the fun is that the game is heavily REPETITIVE. As enphasized by previous reviewers, you simply kill 'em and collect gold and items, then go on and on doing the same for hours on end. That was the core of Diablo I as well, but there are a few important differences: first, the sequel is four or five times larger; and secondly, all special missions are always there in every campaign, in an exactly identical order of apparition, instead of being randomized as in the original.

As this game genre basically allows no space for tactical or strategical thinking, what remains is an arcade situation repeating again and again. The designers probably projected it to suit the tastes of the teenagers forming the bulk of the gaming public, with their heightened resilience to repetitiveness.

Do not misunderstand me - the game is still good, and I would eagerly give it four instead than three stars if not for the comparison with its predecessor. I was able to end a full cycle of campaigns playing the magician, but is't unlikely I shall find the energy to start it all over again with another character.

In the end, I must note that I found especially distastful the Politically Correct decision to make two out of five characters women, and one of them (the Paladin, traditionally represented as bearing Nordic features!) black. Games are stopping to be a heaven against the vulgarity of contemporary mithologies...

Summary: Blizzard Rocks - (But you already knew that)
Review: Diablo I was a great game, it just gobbled up the hours, one right after the other and gave you free access to web site to play with others. Diablo II is all that and more.
The additional characters was a pleasant treat but the addition of multi-level skills was just perfect for the RPG feel you are looking for in this style of game. The combat is real time and with the feature of being able to add select skills to function keys (F1, F2, etc.) made using magic practical.
This is one of the few computer games that is well worth the money they ask when it first comes out, and well worth what they are asking now.

Summary: great challenge
Review: I own Diablo 1, Diablo 2, and Diablo 2 expansion set: Lord of Destruction. I LOVE all three. I Have beat the game multiple times, and I just pick a new character and play again. They are excellent games.
