Summary: I never got to connect long enough to play the real thing
Review: I bought EQ because I wanted a change from Ultima Online and other Online games. Installation was easy, the documentation sufficient, and the offline Tutorial whetted my appetite for the real thing. I like the first-person VP and the graphics are very nice. Compared to the mouse-driven UO, the keyboard controls of EQ are clunky, but, hey, I can learn new tricks. Setting up an account was slow. Then, finally, I got to connect to a server. Very, very slow. I entered the character creation screen--and got disconnected within 10 seconds by the server. Tried many servers many times. Same story. (Note that I have DSL, and no connection problems with other games.) Information on web was scarce, didn't get even an automated reply to my email, and couldn't get through to anyone on phone support. I am returning the game. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect to be able to play.

Summary: I wish it could be 6!
Review: This game is amazing, with a good serving of races and classes, from Wizards to Warriors, you can pick from many races...Humans, Elves, Trolls, Ogres, Gnomes, Dwarves...You get the point. People say its addictive? Well thats a gross understatement...makes all other games bow down. Its really a whole nother world, with 1000s of items and creatures to kill, or trade skills for the less violent type. The expansion adds a whole new continent which almost doubles the stuff to do...really, just give it a try and "Youll be in our world now"(inside joke, get the game and youll understand) Durnhelm Eorling- Level 34 Wizard- Povar Server- "The hand" guild-

Summary: I love this game!
Review: Sure, sure, so you say, "Oh, no, I have to pay money every month to play, blah, blah." Who really cares? This game, is like so cool and I am definatly not a computer person. Sure, a lot of people can get kinda addicted. Oh, well, I didn't really. It's kind of like a 'world' and you kill things and move up levels and make new friends. So, as I said, I am NOT a computer person, but I'm giving it 5 stars! But, please buy it and I promise you'll have the best time! :)

Summary: Everquest Lives Up to It's Name
Review: Everquest is going to have you, literally, questing forever. This game is awesome. With all of the different races one can choose from, and all of the different classes, there are infinite possibilities to what one can be. This game is well worth the monthly fee, and I think that all RPG enthusiasts should buy it as fast as you can

Summary: A decent addition to and otherwise good game.....
Review: While the talk of Everquest being slow below is sometimes true and the customer service support is atrocious. Overall the speed is fine as long as you aren't playing on a bare minimum system, the game is great and while gameplay isn't as smooth as asheron's call it's certainly full of more choices than Microsoft's version. Well worth the money I pay every month to play :)

Summary: Say good bye to your free time...
Review: This game is HUGE! There is so much to do and see that replayability of this game is high. I have never seen a game of it's scale, and the ability to interact with other players makes the game more fun.Made so that players can play cooperatively to defeat monsters and complete quests, or you can be a player killer running around to see who's the best, and they managed to allow player vs player (pvp) interaction without interfering with those who wish to play cooperatively. Unlike some other online games where you have to hope that another player will keep his word (which often they do not...) I strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys RPG's and especially if you like Circle or Diku MUDs which this game resembles in many ways, but with vivid graphic representation and on a massive scale (usually from 1,000-2,000 players on a given server at a time...)

Summary: Everquest... Hm...
Review: I'm a fanatic about RPG's, from Asherons call to MUD (many user dungeon), and another MUD player told me to get Everquest. I installed it, and it took AGES to connect. It's the slowest game I've ever played, and you have to wait to go into another area. The bad thing about it is the speed. The graphics are not all that bad, but I don't recommed this. . . :(

Summary: Everquest: The expansion
Review: Hello, my name is Alex Miller, and I see the flaws with the server, but the game alone is supirior. With a cable modem, a good computer, and a 3d card (the requirments) You have yourself a game that hits where it is suposed to. An addicting, realistic game where you get stronger from fighting in quest, other explorers, or just taking roll in your race from a thief to a wizard, from a human to an iskar (lizard man), trade with other people hooked up, and stay up late with one of the best games I have evered played.

Summary: It's fun, but not perfect.
Review: I bought this game with no real idea of how much fun it might be. I have been playing for a good while now, and I think its one of the best games I have ever played, not too mention the most addictive. I love RPG's, and playing with other people is so much fun for me. It does have its own problems though. Some areas become super crowded with players, and after you die you start off at your home city, and should you die in some far off land, then it takes for ever to get your corpse. But other then those problems, this game is really worth trying. All the different races (dwarves, humans, barbarians, trolls, elves, etc.), all the different classes (warriors, paladins, mages), it is so great! I recommend this to anyone who wants to try it.

Summary: EQ vs AC
Review: Hello, I have been playing Asheron's Call for the last 6 months. Lately I have been itching for a change of scenery so I decided to pick up a copy of Everquest + its expansion. I thought to myself, "If this many people are playing this game, it has to be good" Well, I was definetly wrong. This game should be called Ever-wait. It takes a very long time to just log in,( One time I a recieved a message "servers are too busy, try again later" once in the game you are constantly bombarded by "zones" in which you must wait and download the next region, when you die you have to wait again to respawn, and finally there is even a 30 second count down ticker just to log off. The down-time is not the only thing that turned me off. The graphics and animations leave something to be desired. The game interface is terrible, definetly not user-friendly, and the online community seemed non-existent. You also have very little control over how your character evolves other than choosing your base character class. If I had to choose between Asheron's Call or Everquest, it would be AC hands down. AC is user friendly, no zones, A++ graphics, great online community (ie monarch system), and the game's storyline changes every month with FREE updates which include new quests, creatures, spells and cities (yes, there is a monthly fee as in EQ, but you don't have to buy an expansion pack). So if you are interested in joining a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)I recommend playing Asheron's Call over Everquest. And if you are currently an AC player, don't lower your standards and play this game, it will only lead to frustation and disappointment.
