Summary: Requiem Review
Review: I bought Requiem Recently and found that it plays very well. The only part of the game that was really annoying or somewhat was its lack of good deathmatch and AI. Although its single player game is absolutely breathtaking and stunning. The game itself caught my eye when it was first previewed and now that I have actually played it, it seems to catch my breathe. The game is based on biblical proportions, you are a fallen angel sent by God and your name is Malachi. The game contains many enemies and weapons and probably the best part is its spells, you can change enemies to salt or just kill them with a psionic beam. The game is worth the [$] and deserves to be played. I cant wait for Requiem 2!

Summary: Great graphics and sound; OK storyline
Review: I was intrigued by the game's premise--of a war going beyond simply humans and aliens. While it does deliver angelic combat, it doesn't offer enough.

The graphics are some of the best I've seen--especially the human enemy soldiers. The sound is likewise very, very good--unlike in other games, as characters approach you, their footsteps actually get louder. The action is very fast-paced and the enemies, mortal and demonic, move quickly and cunningly.

The biggest disappointments are the very-standard weapons--automatic rifle, grenade and missile launchers, rail gun. And some of the angelic powers are hard to use or don't seem to have any effect at all. Also, I wanted to more combat/activity against/with the evil supernatural villains. If I wanted to spend time killing evil soldiers and robots, I would have bought another game.

On the other hand, some of them are simply awesome. As Malachi, you can slow time down, run around your opponents, rain down fire and brimstone on them, raise the dead to fight on your side, and more.

Overall very fun, but not as inventive as it could have been.

Summary: Underrated, spells are awesome, hoping for Requiem 2
Review: If 3DO makes Requiem 2 they should make the environments more interactive, interesting and populated. This game had great potential and truly excellent innovations but should have come out a year later with MORE added.

That said, the spells in this game are the coolest thing I've seen in a PC game: Half-Life, the Quakes and Unreal have nothing as cool as raising your enemies from the dead and watching them fight for you! The slow time spell is one of the most exciting effects you'll see: think the Matrix when Trinity jumps in the air and the camera pans around her. I'd very much like to see this in other games.

The damage system is the most underrated of all shooters to date: in no other game have I seen that you can shoot an enemy's arm off in addition to his head. The accelerated graphics look great: easily better than Half Life. At this price you should definitely add Requiem to your collection.
