Summary: Come On People......It's Not THAT Good!
Review: This game was hyped to the max by Maxis. It was going to be spectacular! True 3D down to the smallest detail. None of this came to pass. So, what is so great?

You can see the backs of buildings? HA! The backs of buildings? Big deal!

The disasters are better...not! Unless used in this way...if you're lucky enough to get a decent small city built (it's not easy) you'll be ticked off because now you're going broke, so you will enjoy destroying your city out of frustration before you go bankrupt.

Now nuclear power plants won't blow up...who cares since your stupid sims keep pestering you for a nuclear free zone.

Summary: Hauntingly real, wonderful game
Review: The best part of this game is the zoom feature. If you're like me, you'll spend most of your time building your city about two levels up from the strongest possible magnification. At this level, you can see enough of the surrounding neighborhood, while not straining your eyes to see each particular parcel of land. However, the real joy comes in zooming in and out on what you have created. When you're up close, you see your people -- the citizens of your city -- going about their business. You'll hear the ambient noise of your city -- the sirens, buses, electricity and voices. You have to admire the quality of the programming.

Then, you zoom out and -- at your farthest point -- you're a mile up, and all you see are your biggest buildings and you hear nothing but wind. You look back to admire your entire city -- your creation -- and you're moved by the beauty of the thing you have made.

I really enjoy this game. I will play it for many days to come. However, I reserve my 5 Star rating for Caesar III, which not only matches SimCity 3000 in detail, but also provides an opportunity for battle that SimCity 3000 does not.

Summary: Come on people!
Review: Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but come on! Is the game play similar to SC2K? Yes. Is the game as 3-D as Tomb Raider is or what the Internet previews of SC3K led us to believe? No. Very few things are as good as they look advertised. The game works well and has several improvements. First, the buildings have "backs". SC2K had the buildings looking the same from all angles. Second, the ticker is more pleasing and more humrous than the newspaper. Third, the disasters are more realistic, especially the earthquakes. Fourth, Nuke Power doesn't blow up every time you build one like in SC2K. Fifth, you have more responsibilities than closely resemble real-life cities. Two quibbles: One, the manual has abandoned its "city as a living thing" and eliminated its bibliography. The SC2K manual was one the best manuals for strategy (which the new manual lacks) and thought-provoking essays. Two, I understand that the arcologies annoyed many people, especially at the end. They were cumbersome, expensive, and in the end, well...you have to see for yourself. I know I was angry. That doesn't mean that the arcology concept should be eliminated. It was interesting building form that looked really nice as part of the skyline.

In the previews, I was led to believe that one could walk SimCity streets and ask people directly what was wrong. You would see real-looking cars and crimes occur. You would see graffiti being spraypainted as you looked on. You could change the price of hamnburgers and gasoline, etc. etc. etc. Does anyone know how much memory that would take? How much processing speed? These games are HUGE in the fact they take a long time to program and debug and test, etc. MAXIS needs to make a living, so deal with it. If you are that picky, wait until SC4K. Get a gripe, and stop whining about "what could have been".

Summary: 2000 vs 3000
Review: I bought Sim City 3000 a while ago and I play the game a lot. I also have Sim City, and Sim City 2000. The game is a lot of fun, detail is a lot better than 2000, and there is more to do with this game. BUT even though it is a great game, it is almost the same as 2000. My sugestion is that if you have Sim City 2000 and want beter game play I wouldn't buy this, but if you don't have Sim City 2000 and are trying to decide whether to buy 2000 or 3000, I would definately buy 3000, even if it cost a little more.

Summary: What Could Have Been
Review: In case you didn't know, SimCity 3000 was supposed to have been an incredible truly 3D virtual city. But the developers couldn't pull it off, the system requirements were too high. So instead they quickly revamped SimCity 2000 with lots of pretty eye candy and some menu changes.

If you played the classic SimCity, then bought SimCity 2000, you were probably blown away by the improvements by leaps and bounds over the original. If you expect the same of SimCity 3000 compared to SimCity 2000, you will be very disappointed. So what if you can see some cars and pedestrians in the streets. Is that enough? So what if the menu has changed slightly. Is that enough? So what if there are some new buildings and features. Is that enough? No. Not if you wanted a truly new experience to make you forget SimCity 2000. And the system requirements are extreme for so few "improvements".

This should have been called SimCity 2000 Part 2. Nothing revolutionary, nothing to blow you away, nothing spectacular. Just SimCity 2000 in a pretty package. The developers couldn't pull it off and it shows. Wait until this ends up in the bargain bin.

Summary: The best Simcity yet
Review: Sk3 was one of the best games ever made. The new additions are pretty cool and the 3d interface looks great

Summary: Sim City 2010 would be a more appropriate title!
Review: This game is an unbelievable disappointment. Sim City 3000 is basically Sim City 2000 with some graphics improvements and a few new features, which only slightly change the game play. If you haven't played Sim City 2K much, Sim City 3K might be worth purchasing. Otherwise, this game is a waste of money.

Summary: Fun and very challenging
Review: At first glance this game may look easy but its not.You could spend many hours just trying to figure out what everything does and even more making your numerous attempts at unsuccesful cities. The graphics are pretty good but you need an intense system for the game to run smoothly.Maxis has once again added their own humorous touch to the game which can add to the fun factor. You probably won't get sick of this game very fast. If you are looking for a huge improvement over SC2K you won't find it here.I have made this game sound bad but it really isn't, this a very fun and challenging game and would reccomend it only to one who likes this particular genre.

Summary: sim city 3k (3000)
Review: I think that this game is a very good game. I like the way that you are in control of the city. this game can also be an educational game. you have to deal with money and keeping your people happy. If your people are not happy they will leave the city and it will become a gost town with. The thing that I like as oppose to SimCity 2000 is that you can put world monuments in your city. I think that this game is good for kids and it is a good educational experiance.

Summary: Good Game
Review: I thoght this game was really fun. The only problem I found with it, is that you have to be patient at the start and make money before you can really build your town. On one of the reviews it said, "Don't get this game if your under sixteen." I'm 13 and I made tons of money on the game. As long as you start out slow you won't get in debt.
